A - a dark hazy typically barleywine brown color, with a thin white lacy head, moderate carbonation is barely visible

S - big on the dark fruits, raisins, prunes, plums, currants and such, some faint sugary sweetness and roasted malts

T - the flavor is loaded, roasted malts, big sugary sweetness of vanilla and toffee

M&D - as good as the big 4-1, not as good as the big 4-0, definitely needs age, hopefully Tullycross kept a keg. pretty sure Frank is still there, right. Happy Birthday Frank!

Brewed with maris Otter, Biscuit, Aromatic, CaraMalt, and Honey Malt. Hopped with Kent Goldings, Magnum, and Saaz.

This beer had a clear amber body, no head at all.

Aroma was very light, with a bare hint of floral hops and honey. Not at all what I would have expected from a barleywine.

Taste was rich, buttery malt, with a nice hop balance. Not complex, but pleasant.

Mouthfeel was smooth, and not highly carbonated. Not too bad.

Drinkability... pretty good for a beer of this ABV. The alcohol was not noticeable at all.
