A - Served an almost clear mahogany color with a finger of frothy off-white head atop. The head fades at a normal pace leaving behind a touch of lace.
S - Aroma is full of smoke with with some burnt chocolate and caramel malts and touch of wood.
T - Starts out with a good hit of smoke and some roasted sweet malt. Through the middle some burnt malts with more smoke and peat coming through. Touch of earthy hops as well. Finish is a mix smoke, burnt malts, and a bit of wood.
M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth with a smoky warming finish.
D - Very drinkable. Nice smoky addition to the style. Very rich and full of flavor.

Reviewed on 4/30/2010. On tap at the brewpub. Pours a deep clear brown with a small tan head. Aroma of light smoke and sweet malt. Flavor of smoke and peat initially with sweet caramel malt in the finish. This is really more of a Scottish ale with some peaty/smoked notes rather than a scotch ale. It was ok, but didn't blow me away or anything.

Poured a deep copper hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.
The smell featured a faint smokiness and an eRthy sweetness.
The taste was malt driven with earthy tones and a streak of peat smoke. Slightly buttery.
The mouthfeel was typical of the style.
Overall a tasty ale. A bit muddled malt wise however.
