Had this on tap at JH. Pours a dark orange/brown with a small white head. Aroma of lots of sweet fruits and acetone. Flavor was sweet and melony in the finish. The wood is present, especially as the beer warms, but this is not as woodsy as the cask version. I got some acetone notes too, which threw me off a bit and I enjoyed this much less on draught. Definitely wait for this one to go on cask before ordering!

Poured a medium amber hue with a one and a half finger foamy white head. There was good retntion and lacing.
The smell featured a light sweet malt, a touch of vanilla and an earth hop.
The taste consisted of an astringent malt, some vanilla, a rindy bitterness. There were secondary elements of nuts, smoke and allspice.
The mouthfeel was toward the drier side of the style.
Overall an interesting winter ale. Seemingly complex.
