Bright orange amber with a thin lace. Clean aroma with mild toasted grain on the side. Ample crispness that runs along with an even smoothness. Moderate body. Bite of toasted grain and hops hits the taste buds at the same time. Slight bready maltiness with a modest hop bitterness. Finish is of a clean graininess and lands semi-dry. Real good drinking and could pair up with just about what ever they could dish out of the kitchen.

Reviewed on 10/16/08. On tap at JH. Pours a super clear orange/red with a small ring of white head. Aroma of wheat and sweet malt. Flavor of buttered popcorn and sweet malt. Kinda bland, but alright. Easy drinking.

enjoyed this one at L.I. Spring 08 Brew festival out of a mini heffe glass poured by Eric Ahlberg. head brewer is David Deturris.
A: Dark brown nearing on black
S: Chocolate effervescence but not overpowering and dashes of kiln coffee
T: Roasted easily can taste the fuggles, goldings
M: Quite slick and easy to put down.
D: A nice smooth delivery and easily will ask for again, Smithtown boys did well on this one.

Poured a medium copper hue with a half finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.
The smell featured a light malty grain with a good musty noble hop aroma.
The taste was upfront sweet and grainy malts accompanied by a moderate earthy hop. Good doughy finish.
The mouthfeel was of average fullness.
Overall a tasty lager. Flavorwise, a dead ringer for Sam Adams.

A - Harvard's Vienna Lager arrives a light brown acorn color, with a dark tan, almost non-existant head, and scant few if any carbonation visible
S - mmm, strong roasted smells, rich and full bodied roasted aromas both malty and nutty
T - similar to the aroma, malty and raosted nutty flaovred with the intrusion of some sweetness on the order of vanilla with an ever so slight spice to it, very well crafted a great complimentary beer to any pub style meal
M&D - light and smooth a great beer for the novice craft fiend, not to overpowering but not weak on the palate either a great fit

This brew comes chilled in a pint glass and exhibits a clear copper color with a soft tightly packed off white head fading gradually to a significant surface layer.
Aroma is light caramel and toffee with some light floral hops mixed in.
First sip reveals an average bodied brew with fine tingly carbonation. Flavor is just as the nose advertises, caramel start and some grainy malt in the middle. The middle is a little husky but pleasant. Very clean refreshing finish. Well made brew went well with my burger.
Tettnang hops were used according to the description.

I was actually pretty surprised with this. Usually the better beers at my local JHBH are the richer stouts and porters. This one pours a deep amber with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet and malty, and very enticing. Rich malty flavor profile with hints of sweet candy and an herbal essence (pun intended). Reminds me of fresh flowers. I would session this beer in a big way. Nice!

Pours a deep golden color with a light head a slight toasted malt aroma.Very clean tasting with some subdued dryenss with a toasted malt taste in the finish that lingers for quite awhile.Pretty drinkable but missing a little more substance for the style in my opinion.
