Served in a bottle poured into a pint glass.
A- Very dark brown in appearance with a little bit of head.
S- Very chocolate like scent. Also the presence of a coffee and caramel scent as well.
T- VERY chocolate like. I'd say it is definitely overpowering. Not really a fan of this kind of beer.
M- Too strong of a chocolate like taste for me.
D- I wouldn't have more than one or two in a sitting.

This was a deep, dark beer that had an offwhite head when served. This was a beer that wasn't as thick or rich (especially because of my expectation based on the coloring) in feel as other lagers that I have had in the past. It was an suprisingly good beer that had a crisp taste to it - a subtle and pleasing after taste.
This is definitely a beer that I need to pick up in a growler to enjoy on a cold winter night at home.

Deep, rich, dark amber with crimson red hues and a creamy off-white head/lace. Clean aroma, lightly fruity. Flavour is fruity, malty with light sulfur notes. Crisp and dry with a subtle charred flavour, and some plum and raisin hidden beneath it.
Dark lagers are few and far between, and this one is a fairly decent one. I liked it.

Dark brown with a thin beige/brown cap of fine foam. A bit of spotty lace. Aromas of chocolate and toasted malt, nutty, mild caramel and roast, faint hops. Moderate bitterness, nice balance between sweet malts and hop flavour. Chocolate, malty, nutty, with lingering sweet caramel and hop bitterness. Medium with lowish carbonation. Smooth texture with a bit of astringency from the dark malts. Decent overall with plenty of flavour.
