I had a single hop: Amarillo at John Harvards. I can't be sure that we are talking about the same beer as the Armadillo, but it was pretty hopped up beer. It poured a slightly cloudy, orange amber color with good lacing. The nose had lots of leafy hops and florals and was particularly sweet. There is a mouth puckering sourishness and hop presence in the finish. The hops are not particularly oily or estery, but they are slightly souring, leafy and herbal. There is a strong bittering aftertaste to this beer. Not a bad beer

This beer came to the table as a nice deep almost murky amber color. Not much head, but read my other John Harvard reviews to see my theory. No carbonation can be seen in the beer. Lacing was excellent throughout.

The nose had a nice malted aroma. There was an underscored hint of fresh ground sea salt.

There was a slight alcohol flavor that dominated the first sip. The second sip was a combination of the alcohol flavor and a bitter hops taste. No notes of any flavors other then the alcohol and hops.

The feel of this beer was it's finest quality. It had a nice heavy solid feel in my mouth that was balanced perfectly with a ton of carbonation bouncing through it.

Overall a nice dark IPA. I would recommend this as a nice beer to enjoy with a steak. It would be a great meal drink, but may not stand on it's own for a night of drinking due to the flavor of alcohol.
