Winterbrewed is a Beau's & Bridgehead collaboration that celebrates all that brewing great beer and great coffee have in common. Winterbrewed is an Amber lager, brewed with a blend of Mexican, Guatemalan and Ethiopian Organic Fairtrade Coffee from Bridgehead. Malty, roasted, toasted flavours of coffee and barley meld with nutty, fruity inflections. The interplay is carried forward in the aroma, where caramel, peach and a touch of lime and vanilla underpin fresh coffee and amber malt notes.

I'm am so liking this beer. Hats off to Beau's for imaginative, high quality beers. Keep it up. This one plays like a light coffee liqueur. Quite enjoyable.

Pours a good sized head atop a copper red brew. Settles to a heavy film, gives lots of lace. A handsome beer.

Sweet coffee aroma, fresh grain, caramel. Appetizing. Coffee, malty sweetness, caramel, grain to taste. Delicious, no one element overwhelms, so that there is lots to enjoy. Nice gently bitter finish. Carbonation gives a little bite up front before giving way to softness.

Well done. Looking forward to more Beau's.

600ml Bottle from the Ottawa LCBO for 7.00$

Appearance - Brown/copper colour with an average size fizzy beige coloured head. There is a low amount of carbonation showing and there is some faint lacing. The head lasted for around 3-4 minutes.

Smell - Malts, caramel, coffee, grains

Taste & Mouth - There is an average amount of carbonation and I can taste caramel, malts, and of course lots of coffee. There is also a light roasted flavour and a graininess. It ends with a sweet caramel/coffee aftertaste.

Overall – An interesting beer that is worth a try.. the coffee flavour started to wear on my towards the end of the bottle, so I would probably share future bottles. Probably won't be a repeat purchase for me, but if you like coffee you will really like this beer.

Appearance: deep mahogany, ruby colour; a bit of a haze; good tan head with great retention

Aroma: amazing, vibrant, roasted coffee - I think it could be smelled across the room; like its been freshly ground, you can almost taste it; really incredible

Taste & Mouthfeel: truly is a coffee-amber mix - has the light caramel, mildly but noticeably hopped bitterness, and crisp, medium-light mouthfeel of an amber, with coffee flavour that compliment but doesn't overpower (at all); remarkable balance; coffee finds it place more in the finish, leaving roasted notes lingering with the resin hops

Overall: an outstanding coffee-flavoured brew, with authentic, fresh flavour; just about anyone could appreciate this

Deep copper with red highlights. Thick, retentive, and tightly formed beige head. Small patches of lace. Powerful pure coffee aroma. Not like brewed coffee, but more like freshly ground coffee beans. Strong fresh-brewed coffee flavour with a gentle nuttiness underneath. Bittersweet and lightly acidic. Moderate coffee bean bitterness and a touch of caramel in the lengthy finish. Coffee-flavoured burps. Medium-bodied and lightly carbonated. Soft mouthfeel.

Truth be told, I prefer tea to coffee. That said, this beer tastes like the coffee it was brewed with, from local roastery Bridgehead, is of very good quality. And the quality of that coffee is allowed to shine in this delicious beer.

Pours penny-copper. Bubbly tan head settles to a nice looking film pretty quickly.

Whoa! That's some uber-fresh coffee on the nose. Fresh ground coffee, quite strong.

Smooth nutty malt is immedialtey overtaken by iced-coffee, espresso strength. Notes on label suggest limes, vanilla, all sorts of fun stuff, but I just get coffee coffee coffee and it ain't a bad thing. Finish is nice roasty bitterness, but quite quenching at the back.

I generally don't seek out coffee beers, so take this with a grain of salt, but I've never had a beer with such a strong coffee element to it. Probably because stout and porter flavours usually obscure some of the coffee taste, but the amber base it really gives it a clean flavour. A great beer.

Entered as a new beer since the ABV is much higher than the 2012 edition's 4.8%.

600ml bottle poured into a pint glass. ABV 6.0%.

A - Poured a clear reddish copper with a thick 2cm cream coloured head. Head reduced to a creamy cap. Decent lacing. Not as dark as your typical coffee beer.

S - Fresh coffee, golden sugar, hint of grass in the background.

T - Golden sugar, a bit of toffee, hint of citrus, medium-light roasted coffee, mild hops in the finish. It's not the usual black/burnt flavour that coffee beers usually have. Very delicious.

M - Medium-light carbonation, medium body, creamy finish. Texture is more like an English style Pale Ale than a typical lager.

O - A very welcomed change for a coffee beer. Definitely smells & tastes like Bridgehead coffee. Glad I picked up 2 bottles.
