Had this on gravity cask. This beer poured a vibrant golden color with crystal-clear clarity. Mountains of foam capped it, releasing a honeyed sweet aroma. Light flavor of sweet honey and clove flowers, but not hoppy nor bitter. Enjoyable, especially for a spring day.

Pours golden with a very slight haze; some bubbles but no head to speak of - about right for gravity cask. The smell is faint but nice: some woody notes, a little grass and grain. The taste is more complex: lots of wood, pumpernickel bread, marigold, a rusty bitter finish. It's lightly carbonated, thin in body, but with some viscosity at the swallow. Very easy to drink, and a very fine beer indeed.

Cask at Armsby Abbey
Fizzy bubbly 1 finger head fades at med pace with nice lacing over crystal clear pale straw color.
Nose has light malts, straw toasty, light creamy almost lactic like, light grassy hops.
Taste starts with toasty malts, light straw and rustic malts, kinda malty but not very, bit creamy even, smooth, light, some light lager fruits and sweetness, some bitterness as grassy spicy hops kick in. Finishes a bit more bitter with spicy grassy hops, and light creamy toasty malts.
Mouth is a bit lighter bodied, very little carbonation.
Overall not bad, very drinkable and refreshing, nice malts and hops but just not enough of them.

500ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy straw yellow with a fluffy white head. Great lacing. Smells of full, grainy malt with a lot of grassiness; the hops are quite evident. Earthy. Tastes of pale malt and wet hay, with a crisp bitterness that makes it super refreshing. Great light-medium body. Incredibly easy to drink. Fantastic stuff, though it's better from a fresh cask.

A: slightly amber but very clear and golden mostly; finger head; nice lacing
S: grainy and malty; fairly subdued overall with just not a lot going on here--although still pleasant enough
T: Bitter and grainy; also a bit metallic
F: Fairly nice coating; balanced carbonation
D: This is a pretty drinkable beer though I found the metallic aftertaste to be a bit much throughout

Listed as Lowenbrau Buttenheim Kellerbier at the Huber Haus Fass Fess in Omaha this past weekend, I'm assuming this is the right beer. From a gravity cask, I thought it tasted like a rustic, German lager with earthy undertones - a very good beer.
A - crystal clear, light golden with an amber hue, only a finger of head but thick
S - earthy bread-like smell, German hop scent was evident
T - bitterness coats your mouth, earthy and grainy flavors, very rustic, enjoyable
M - feels much fuller than it is, thick and rustic feel
D - ok drinkability, a little much
This is the beer I was most looking forward to, and it didn't disappoint.

A- Clear light copper with a small white head. There is a bit of yeast sediment. Lively bubbly carbonation. Head dropped out and left no lacing.
A- Sweet malt, slightly bready aroma.
T- Dry, perhaps intensified by the hop bitterness. Slight tartness. Bready malt flavor. Finishes with a nice sweet malty aftertaste. Well balanced.
M- Medium-light body with moderate carbonation.
D- Surprisingly enjoyable. This beer looked a bit older and ick by the bottle, but was surprisingly enjoyable.

A deep and shiny amber-colored liquid with a medium size head and no cloudiness.
Smells very spicy and slightly musty, with dryish malt being the main factor and hop seasoning adding a herbal, noble quality. A sweetness that resembles tropical fruit and honey is strong as well, while yeast is noticeable also next to a soft licorice-like note.
The taste begins with a balancing out of sweet, lemony fruity flavors and a harsher maltiness that has many shades, ranging from salty to grainy and . Shortly after the hops start kicking in and direct this beer into a bitter dimension. The aftertaste is intensely bitter, clean and very strong, with a trace of hops in the distance.
A medium body and a smooth, rounded mouthfeel with fine but strong carbonation.
This is a powerful and fresh tasting beer that is very delicious.

This is a tasty keller-type lager.
Slightly pale amber mostly clear with only very faint haziness, it has a big, faintly off-white head that shrinks slowly to a thin top with decent, even lace.
The smell is rich bread, pine, crust, honey, hay, hints of lemon and yeast, overall very nice and a good German lager aroma.
The taste is similar but lightly on the bitter side with bread, hay, pine, lemon, juice, a somewhat bitter finish, and overall very tasty with good flavour.

Something new from BevMo.
Clear deeply gold colored beer with a good white head with some staying power. None of the cloudiness you would expect from a beer of this type.
Smell is rich and flowery with a spicy hop aroma. Barley husk aroma hints at a possibly astringent flavor. Decidedly strong with spicy Nobel hops.
Taste starts out mildly sweet with a good bitter bite. Flowers and spice flavor with a grassy aftertaste. Bitterness doesn't get harsh as you drink it and the astringency is mild.
Mouthfeel is good.
Quite a tasty beer and super drinkable. A bit of a raw and wild lager but one of the better ones out there.

16.9 oz. bottle, it's rare to find a bottle of kellerbier so I picked one up,
A: Pours a mild amber, not particulary cloudy, soft medium cap of white foam, no lacing.
S: Sulfur, metal, earthy hops, some bread.
T: I've only had three beers in this style so it's kind of hard to review this beer to style since I don't have much to go by, so I'm just going by how much I like it. Strong quasi-metallic hop taste, copper and minerals backed by a light bready malt whose sweetness becomes more apparent as the beer warms. Very bitter for a German beer.
M: Very dry, mild carbonation, spritzy at times, would make a good aperitif.
D: An interesting tasty beer that just showed up at BevMo one day, don't see many of this rare Franconian style so I had to pick it up. Very drinkable and refreshing, go try this beer if it shows up in your area.
