Served from a 341ml bottle to a tulip glass
A: Yellow blonde color. Small one finger head that died down pretty quick and left minimal lacing. Seeing chunks floating in my beer was quite strange but it was interesting. I'm used to some sediment but this took it to a whole new level. lol.
S: Not much on the nose honestly. A slight bit of lemon citrus and some of the phenolicy yeast characters typical to this style of beer.
T: the citrus really opens up on the palate. Nice amounts of orange and lemon zest. I didn't think I was going to get to much flavor out of it based on its aroma but one sip changed my opinion. There is also a nice bit of banana and coriander too. Its pretty refreshing despite its high alcohol. Bitterness is also fairly low.
M: Fairly crisp and dry. The alcohol is really noticeable. Perhaps one of the better aspects of this beer.
O: I liked this beer and might consider picking it up again seeing as its a local brew and i'm assuming its cheap. (Got it as a gift). If it was decently priced I'd get some more otherwise its nothing spectacular.

Bought 660mL bottle and poured into a pint glass.
A: Golden orange, 1 finger of light head which fades quickly, very hazy, fine bubbles
T: Yeast, surprising amount of banana, clove, some alcohol.
M: Slight carbonation, medium body, dry, very drinkable
D: This is a solid beer. Belgian style beer with the banana taste is great. This is a sweeter summer beer. It was so good that I bought a bottle for my dad, and he loved it as well. Not too mention the bottle was $4.00 in Montreal

660ml (qu'est-ce que c'est la?) bottle, procured via a trade with tbeckett - merci!
This beer pours a cloudy medium golden straw colour, with two fingers of thin creamy white head, which leaves some jagged hanging tiers of lace around the glass as it steadily retreats (no Gallic inference meant or implied whatsoever...). It smells prominently of banana and clove, yeasty wheat grain, and a decent warming alcohol. The taste is sweet bubblegum wheat malt, zingy clove, mashed banana, mild citrus pith, earthy yeast, and a well-behaved booze edge. The carbonation is quite understated, the body medium weight, a bit too heavily in the way of the sugar, but still adequately smooth. It finishes off-dry, the main challenge to the sweet malt arising in the form of a re-armed saccharine ethanol dryness.
While it's hard to remember any minute detail of the Low Countries original, this, on its own merits, comes off as a very convincing simulacrum, made as it is an ocean away. A nice balance of grain, yeast, spice and booze, that is surprisingly easy to imbibe.

341mL bottle with ambiguous code on back label poured into chalice.
Pours a hazy orange with gold highlights with a fizzy white head that dissipates very quickly.
Coriander, banana and clove on the nose, with a generous dose of alcohol.
Alcohol is prominent is a prominent taste, with lemon, banana and clove behind. Lots of belgian yeast flavours going on here.
Mouthfeel is light, with fizzy carbonation. About par for the style.
Not a bad beer by any shot, but nothing to write home about. Hits the average notes for the style.

Blonde d’Achouffe…in a bottle from the Brewer’s mixed pack.
Appearance-mix of gold and amber, a wavy thick head rises and then leaves fast, leaving little more than tons of crackling bubbles
.
Smell-banana and clove, yeast mixed with alcoholic burns, smoked and burnt sugar as well. Pungent.
Taste/Mouthfeel-initial burn on the tongue, strong banana notes mixed with burnt sugar. Yeasty doughy background on the malt, backs it up ok. Smoothness is ok. Medium to heavy mouthfeel. Finishes with a spicy hit of fruit and peppery haze. Other flavor notes that I did not were caramel and dried bread but they were light. Alcohol is actually well hidden after the initial crush.
Overall-interesting beer, one I’d try again, I like the way the alcohol is hidden for the most part. Worth a try.

341 ml served in a chilled glass
Appearance - The beer pours a "dirty" amber/haze colour with a small amount of head that quickly disappears. The head is a solid white with some min lacing. There is low carbonation with a bunch of snow flake like sediment floating around.
Smell - I can smell dry banana's, some sweetness and not really much else.
Taste - The sweetness of the banana really comes through in this beer. There is a solid taste throughout the whole mouthfeel. The beer does not have much aftertaste to it.
Mouthfeel - decent amount of carbonation level adds to the banana taste. As well, brings a little bit more of a bitter aftertaste. I could also taste hints of apple/spice in the mouthfeel.
Drinkability - Besides the snow flake type of sediments in my beer, i found this to be a decent flavoured beer. Glad i tried it, would not stock it.

12oz bottle
Appearance - The beer pours a murky gold/amber colour with a small fizzy white head. There is a low to average amount of carbonation and there is some faint lacing on the sides of the glass. The head stuck around for only a few minutes before it was gone. There is a ton of sediment.. the beer looks like a shaken snow globe.
Smell - bananas, cloves, wheat
Taste & Mouth - The beer has a nice level of carbonation, it feels creamy yet light. The most noticeable flavour is ripe bananas and cloves. Theer is also some white grape/apple flavour and some wheat. I can also taste the alcohol. It finishes with a slightly bitter banana aftertaste.
Drink - Another beer that I'm happy I tried.. but isn't anything to write home about.

Bottle purchased at Pub St. Alexandre in Vieux Quebec. Poured into a tulip.
Pours a cloudy yellow, with a tinge of orange with a nice white head that laced a little bit on the way down. Aroma was gorgeous, with a pile of banana and a bit of clove and coriander with a touch of wheat malt underneath it. Tastes much of the same, without any of the 8% within the beer playing through... Superbly well balanced in terms of flavour, malt and alcohol. Good mouthfeel, though nothing amazing and wildly drinkable...
Well made, worth seeking out.

Bought this over at Costco in Gatineau in the mixed 15 pack.
Pour was a hazy golden orange colour with very little head and no lacing. The smell is of spicy aroma, with hints of alcohol and cloves. The taste is complex, fruity with a hint of of spices and cloves with an alcohol aftertaste. Ends with a slight bitterness.
Could I drink this all night? Probably but it is a bit heavy for a summer beer yet it is refreshing.

From an RJ sample pack from Montreal. Poured into a chalice.
Pale golden-creamy colour, almost the colour of white grapefruit juice. Visible carbonation and sediment (admittedly, the sediment is in quite an off-putting form...) A thin head, doesn't stick around much.
Lovely nose on it - banana, spices, nuts, a bit of alcohol as well.
While not the best-looking brew on the block, this one sure tastes good. A lovely mix of banana, fruit, cinnamon, cloves, a touch of yeast and spices. Alcohol is present, but masked well.
Light carbonation, medium body. Slightly puckery to the finish. Smooth. It's hot as stink today, and this beer is doing the trick nicely.
A fine BSPA - really quite enjoyable. This seems to be a style that Quebeckers do well. Definitely will pick up some more next time I'm in la Belle Province. The gnome-factor also gives d'Achouffe a big thumbs up from me.

Afraid I have to go against the flow here. I found this beer to border on unpalatable for how sweet it was. Maybe I got an off bottle, but the bottle I got was a clear miss.
Looks good enough. Looks appetizing for a firm moderate head and a nice hazy golden colour. First hint of trouble is in the nose which is interesting for its fruitiness and grain, but is overlaid by too much sweetness.
That carries through to the flavour of the beer. Its unexpectedly sweet over top of what should be something far more interesting. There's a notion of tastiness there, but the sweetness is simply utterly distracting.
I'll fetch up some other bottles to try, but for now its a fail.

341 ml bottle out of ''La collection du Maitre Brasseur'' 6 pack from Brasseurs RJ
A- Like a hazy peach juice. Lots of sediment followed the careful pour. Head is minimal. Basically a ring with thin layer in the center of it.
S- Gooseberry. Grain. Belgian type yeast. Pear. Fermented orange juice. Some sort of banana and/or peach creme once it warms up. Alcohol starts off discrete but packs quite a punch when warm.
T- More bitter than I thought. Mandarin. Leafy. Strong clove taste. Reminds me for some reason of a bitter pomelo. Drank this almost at room temperature and it hides the alcohol fairly well (for 8%).
M- Smooth. Highly carbonated at first but loses it. So... low to medium fine carbonation.
D- High. I could probably drink a sixpack. I'd be drunk though.
Good beer but I don't know what it is... something is off. A little detail. I thought it had a watery finish but I'm not so sure anymore. I definitely might be biased considering I know this is a licensed product but this really tastes like a clone. ... a real well executed knockoff beer. Seems like it lacks soul... not trying to get too deep here...
