First had: on tap at Triumph, Philly, PA
Cloudy magohany pour with a foamy off-white head that retained well and left thin layers of lacing on the glass. Woody, nutty aroma, bready malts; sage was a bit light in the nose. On the palate however, the sage was pretty prominent, lending secondary notes of black tea, and a sweet caramel malt base fleshing the beer out for a good balance. Body was on the heavier side of medium, carbonation was soft. A little of this beer might go a long way, but it is definitely good enough to warrant revisiting.

Had this on tap at the Triumph Brewery in Philadelphia, PA. A medium-bodied American ale with a caramel maltiness, dry-hopped with sage in the background. A strange sage-colored hue to the beer with a definite sage aroma present and a taste that follows. This was an odd beer -- i'm not sure if sage is the best herb for brewing -- but then again, I think back and I want another. It was definitely a different experience, and one that I would gladly try again. Would probably go really well with a chicken dish.
