Great food and wonderful staff! Have lots of different beers to choose from and a great bartender to help choose a beer to fit your style. The buliding is a very neat rustic place with lots of history, if you are every in Terre Haute IN be sure to stop by and check it out.

Nice enough place. Vintage looking but almost to the point of outdated. Food is pretty good and can sometimes have a few surprise beers on tap or in bottles.

Historic restaurant that could use some upkeep. Beer list is fair, Champagne Velvet is the historic "house" beer made for them by Upland, very tasty. I was told that MANY years ago it was competition to Budweiser. Certainly much better tasting than Bud. Food was reasonably priced and was excellent. Service/menu advise was outstanding! Kick back in time and enjoy!

I have been to M. Moggers many times. They always have a decent variety of taps with high quality. They also have a decent bottle selection, although it was better in years past. Awesome decor! This place is great and by far the best place in the area.

The place has a sign out front that says 'Brewery restaurant'. A bit misleading, but not really a problem. There's not a brewery in Terre Haute this place is in a building that used to be a brewery about 100 years ago. The venue itself is pleasant - antique feel: dark woods, beautiful back bar, etc. They have several brews on tap that seem to rotate, most all Indiana and surrounding region, plus a very large selection of brews from all over in bottles, including some very high class stuff. i had their 'Italian Roast Beef sandwich' which was excellent. Server was a very friendly and pleasant young woman named Bridget.

I went here with me girlfriend, she goes to school down here. The place was a vary antiquey looking place. We sat on the restaurant side of it. The had a pretty good band on the bar side. It had a pretty good vibe. We had a nice waitress she wasn't a beer drinker but she could tell me a little about different kinds of beer. The had a great bottle selection with quite a bit limited releases. I wish they had more on draft but they had enough to get a nice sampler.
We both gat a pizza and they were both good. The price wasn't bad some beers were larger and had a larger price. The 12oz ran around 3 to 5 buck with a few exceptions. Overall it's a good place to go and have a few beers. I will be back to this place.

My best friend took me here when I visited him. The only downside to this place is the location and outside signage. You could drive by it a few times and miss it quite easily. The pub is rustic and simple, very friendly feel to it. Beer selection was solid, could have more on-tap. The staff was friendly and attentive. Our waiter had tried a lot of beers, so he could give us honest detailed remarks.

Food wise, my best friend recommended the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich...OH MY WORD! Fantastic. Decent size portions with definite kick, had me wanting more.

In a state not really known for tons of microbrews or brewpubs, this is THE beer place in Terre Haute.

A really interesting atmosphere. Lots of aged character to this place; kind of antiquey. I had a Two-hearted ale and a Dogfish 90 on tap with the Townhouse Chicken, which was quite tasty. Tap selection was good but limited at only 10 or so. They had a couple of my fav IPA's on tap, so I'm happy, or should I say hoppy? The antique beer cooler is a nice touch that reaaly fits the atmosphere. Met some dudes from St. Louis that enjoyed the place as well. A nice find indeed. Blaa, blah, blah, blaah, aaaahhhhgghhh!

Just moved to Terre Haute two months ago and have already visited this place 3 times. Not the best beer selection I have ever seen but definitely has a lot to choose, from a variety of new seasonals to some more common brews . As mentioned by other reviewers, the tap list is not very impressive, maybe 10 taps total. However these do include some SN and New Belgium offerings as well as the nearby brewed Clay county stout and Hoosier honey wheat (both of which I really enjoy and recommend). The food is not bad at all and they have nightly specials which are normally great for the price. I have liked both the Blue burger and the Wednesday night steak and my girlfriend really liked her pizza. Most of the beers and food items are reasonably priced and the only beers that are a bit expensive are worth the cost. Check it out if your in town.

I recently had dinner here with my wife and daughter and was quite impressed. The food was fine, the service good, and the beer selection is excellent. I suppose the only down side to the beer selection is that their draft selections are limited to 10-15 beers, but the bottled selection is tremendous. They have everything some local and Indiana micros to Belgians. We sat in the bar and I'm happy to say the music was kept to a low enough level we could have normal conversations.

The atmosphere is also excellent as this was an old brewery and there is some really nice old woodwork everywhere. I'll look forward to return visits here when I'm in town.

I always make it a point to eat at M. Mogger's on my way through Terre Haute (about twice a year). The food is good. I highly recommend the Town House Chicken (chicken breast with a creamy mushroom sauce on a bed of mixed rice), a house specialty. The beer selection is excellent, including some beers local to the region like Three Floyds and Goose Island and a vast selection of Belgian beers. The atmosphere is great. The restaurant is located in an old brewery, so it has a lot of character, and there is always some good jazz playing. The service has always been prompt and courteous. They even kept the kitchen open for me when I came through town late one night.

A nice brew pub atmosphere. Very well developed by the decor. Good quality overall, although nothing outstanding. Service is a mixed bag; I've had really amazing waiters/waitresses, but more often I've had ones that either didn't know what they were doing are were so relaxed about their job that they did it poorly. The selection, however, is excellent. Outside of the liquor stores, you won't find as broad a selection of quality alcoholic beverages anywhere in town (IMHO). The food is pretty good, unfortunately everything is a little on the pricey side for the quality and environment of the establishment.

Moggers is a pretty good restaurant and they do have a wide assortment of beers to choose from. Way back in the day it was the only place in Terre Haute to get hard cider. Their menu has a nice selection, as well, and the food is usually good. The service leaves a lot to be desired, though. The waitresses are not very prompt or informative and act as though they're doing you a favor. You also can no longer get Champagne Velvet here as the owner of the brewery has sold the recipe and brewery, and it hasn't started being produced again yet.

Update: July 2008
Went in last night to see if they had any of Wabash Valley's beers. They did have one on tap, the pilsner, which was good.

Their beer list is even better than before, but the service is still average at best. It's too bad, otherwise it would be one of my favorite places.

Update: October 2008
A wonderful thing, all of their drafts are now from Indiana. The sampler I had was fantastic (3 Floyds, Upland, Brugge, and Barley Island). The food was even better than usual, the buffalo chicken sandwhich was wonderful. Unfortunately the service is still just average. Good at first, but then it fell off and I was left waiting at the end like usual.

As an Indiana State student, anytime my friends come to visit, I take them to Mogger's. There is not much to say about Mogger's style that hasn't already been said. It is a very nostalgic place. Their food is very good. I often enjoy the bleu burger which offers a Cajun style flavor and an order of fried mushrooms. Like it was said before, their beer menu is exeptional. Their selection of bottles is somewhere in the hundreds, I haven't counted them all. Their taps leave something to be desired for seasonal but they do hold several mircobrews and more popular brews. Like many bars with a wide selection, they offer an MBA program (Masters of Beer Program). If you do visit frequently, you can recieve rewards for drinking a certain amount of different brews.

Located in the old brewery district of Terre Haute along the canal. Beer production stopped here in 1958 when it was known as the Terre Haute Brewing Company and produced Champagne Velvet. Brewing began again in the 1990's at the location next door and eventually moved to a nearby location on 9th Street when Moggers took over the entire building. Lot of old brewery items adorn the premises and nostalgia is thick. Beer is no longer made at this Poplar Street location.

Do not recall ever being disappointed in the quality of this establishment and this holds true especially for the last two visits.

Have always been pleased with the service. Usually offered by students from nearby Indiana State University, but all waiters, waitresses, bartenders and others have been cordial and very willing to please. Most seem knowledgeable about the beers and if not they will provide you with someone that can answer your questions.

Exceptional selection of beers for this area. Wines are somewhat lacking but come on 'Brewery Restaurant & Pub'. I go here for the beer. Seasonals include the recently talked about Santa's Butt, Rudolph's Revenge, and Bad Elf. That ain't bad but I was disappointed there was not a seasonal tap available. But cannot rate them down for that. Lots of bottles to choose from and usually about 12 drafts with 1 seasonal on tap.

Everything always tastes good. My 'usual' would be the soup and salad with the "Mogger's Salad" being my salad of choice. Not to say this is what I always have as the sandwiches "Italian Beef" and "Mogger Burger" are good choices also. Appetizers, entrees, and desserts are always available and good but I have trouble eating all that food and drinking my beer too. This place is close enough that I can keep going back and trying different things - especially the beer.
