330 ml bottle, as Struise Nieuwpoortse Roste Jeanne, from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen. ABV is 7%. Brewed for the Heksenfeesten (Witch Fest) in Nieuwpoort, July 2010. Amber colour, clear first, cloudy brown in the end. Huge off-white head with an orangey hue. Moderate aroma of brown kandij sugar, caramel and spices. The medium sweet flavour has moderate malts, caramel, brown kandij sugar and mild spices, "dusty" and metallic hops in the finish. The mouthfeel could have been richer.

Had on tap. Pours clear, ruby in color with 1/2 inch head. Taste is plums, brown sugar, and toasted malt. There also appears to be light hopping for slight bitterness at the end. While I prefer others in the style, this is very tasty and well worth a try.

Sampled from a 33cl bottle I picked up in a trade in London. Best by date was May 2013 so I'm a bit beyond but wouldn't think that's a big deal with the style.
A stream of foam came pouring out of the bottle as soon as I opened it. Fortunately I had a glass close by and managed to salvage a good portion. I wasn't sure what to expect at that point.
A - A light brown color with serious haze and a small beige head. Looks a bit like pond water.
S - Brown sugar, apple, breads.
T - Lots of brown sugar with some green apple and hints of raisin.
M - Moderate, smooth mouthfeel with a mild carbonation of fine bubbles (I think the bulk of the carbonation exited before the pour).
O - Decent flavor. I'm not sure what caused the foamover but it doesn't seem to be infection.
