Bottle dated Vintage 2005.
Pours a clear, deep mahogany brown with a dense tan bubbly head. Good head retention.
Aroma of oak mixed with a dark fruit sweetness. Vanilla. Raisins. Dates. Some alcohol heat.
Upfront taste is sweet dark fruit, raisin, molasses, roasty. Dark roasty malt middle. Sweetness follows through to the finish. Additional flavors of oak, red grapes, brown sugar, and a hint of alcohol in the finish. Lingering sweetness.
Full bodied and somewhat syrupy with low carbonation. Smooth. Really coats the mouth.
Overall delicious. Nice balance of roasty and sweet. Oak adds some nice complexity. Would like to compare this to regular Pannepot.
