2008 bottle opened in 2014. This is brief because I did not have access to the internet at the time of opening. Past its prime but wonderful and interesting. Intricate flavors in harmony and rather subdued. I bought this bottle in Belgium at a shop in Brussels.

Pours a plum-tinted, amber-brown color with a half finger of tan-colored head that quickly fades into a wisp and crown that leave strong lacing.
The nose is comprised of leather, strong stone fruit (cherry, plum, date), vanilla and a hint of cinnamon.
The taste has some similar elements, but is dull in comparison. The fruitiness is there up front, but seems watered down in the finish. There are hints of cardboard along with the leather. A little nuttiness and wood show as well, not really doing the beer many favors. The vanilla note is still pleasant, but there isn’t the same harmony as in the aroma.
Lightly syrupy feel with surprisingly strong fizz.
It’s been a while since I’ve had a Quad and I had particularly high expectations for this one. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by the extreme body of contemporary “big beers” and am judging this too harshly. Some elements are glorious. That said, it tastes past its prime. 1/12/19 vintage date.

Black with amaranth reflections, ocher foam with a decomposed grain and good persistence. Scent of chocolate, coffee, caramel and resin. On the palate, the roasted and hoppy notes have a good balance and there is also a slight sweet tone in the middle. Medium body and high sparkle.

Had a chance to taste a 2011 vintage. Simply the best.

Well son of a bitch, I will finally have a quad review that is legit. Not a style I'm into, but dare I say this is my favorite in the world. Pours a cola like color/appearance, soft light beige head on it, 1/3". Aroma was wood and raisin.
Taste was wood and raisin. I really liked how it wasn't all harsh dark fruit bitterness, was so much softer. The mouth feel was great, no alcohol heat, such a great meld. Light tobacco nuance. Light dark cherry influence in the smallest degree. Carbonation was nice and soft and totally appropriate (for a 2011 bottle drank in March 2019).
Thanks to Adam for bringing this out, can't believe he actually let me troll him for a bit about how this isn't that good of a beer. I really can't think of any other quad out there I would rather have.

Ruby brown with fading tan foam; big hit of booze + wood; sugared plums, a bit of pepper, slight vanilla + banana, brandy, sultanas, glace cherries, honeycomb + cinnamon with a cherry comeback; smooth, creamy + dry.

Shows all the grace + mellowness of age. Never cloys, burns or overwhelms. Doesn’t hit hard with anything: exquisitely smooth, round, + intricate. Melted Raisinettes, grown up cherry cola - comparisons don’t do justice. Dangerously drinkable.
