Poured into my Duvel tulip.
A - A rich brown color. Dark enough to not see through it but the edges show a very nice color in the light. A nice white head goes almost entirely away but leaves a ring around the edge and some lacing.
S - I don't know where to start. There is so much going on here. Toffee, sweet Belgian yeast, dark fruits, brown sugar, molasses, and just a hint of alcohol. Glorious.
T - This is amazing. Sweet without being cloying. Brown sugar, spices, toffee, a little plum, and strangely enough cola. The alcohol is nearly imperceptible which is frightening. The finish is sweet with a touch of bitter and stays around the back of the mouth. Rich and wonderful.
M - Medium full body coats the mouth very well. The carbonation is good enough to notice but doesn't tingle or distract.
D - I love this beer. I want more. I can't think of too many quads better than this.

Oh my! I was recommended this at Redstone liquors in Stoneham, MA and decided to take a chance. Couldn't be happier that I did! Amazing quad, loaded with dark fruits and malts, but perfectly balanced. High amount of sweetness, but it just works. Finished clean and lingers beautifully. World class quad - very fortunate to have tried this. Right up there with Rochefort 10 and so subtly different it compares favorably.

Sediment floats in dark, dark brown that's not quite opaque. A light tan head foam rests on top. Murky, for the style.
Pine, earthy notes. Barely noticeable.
Tastes somewhere between oak and maple, not really a combination of the two. A stain of coffee and caramel leaves something to be desired, however, there is a warm brown sugar/molasses character. I imagined something more aggressive yet this is rather kindly and mild. Something may have been lost in transit.
The body's surprisingly light for what looks like a stout. Generally refreshing.
