Poured from growler. Nice two finger head. Color is a nice dark brown almost black. Great lacing, sticks to glass throughout tasting. Very little aroma and of what I can smell I am not sure how to describe it. Taste is good and refreshing with a little hoppy flavor but I am not getting the "super hopped" taste advertised. However, that doesn't take anything away from the beer. Great mouthfeel, smooth feel with just the right amount of carbonation. Was trying to limit myself to two of these last night, but had to have a third. Drinkability is excellent.

Served on draft at Horniblows Tavern in Raleigh, NC on 8/12/09.

Pours a murky, lake mud (southern lake mud; imagaine chocolate with grape juice) color with a frothy, white head.

Aroma was quite lacking. According to the board, this is a "Belles Brown on steroids". Also touted as a very hoppy brown, the aroma leads elsewhere.

Flavor was more in-line with the description. Hoppy and roasty. Really quite tasty. Not quite up to speed with other IBA (DFH or Terrapin) but pretty tasty nonetheless.

This was a really easy drinker. At 7.1% abv, this one goes down very smooth. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who likes a bit of hop with their brown ale.

2L swing-top growler into a Duvel snifter pours a dark brown with ruby highlights and a nice frothy khaki head. Aroma is citrus hops overpowering brown malts and slight cocoa. The taste is a wonderful amount of hops dancing nicely with brown malts and chocolate, the balance persists nicely into the lingering finish, superb! The beer is quite light and smooth and it hides its alcohol very well. This is quite simply one of the best India Browns I've ever had, I hope this one makes it into their regular seasonal rotation, and look forward to the Woodford barrel version promised as coming soon at the tavern!
