We've been here twice, about three months apart. The second time we were real close and looking for somewhere to eat. As I was pulling in I thought there was a reason I wasn't very impressed the first time I was here. As soon as I took the first sip of my 60 Minute I remembered...
Oh yeah, the beer is way off. My girlfriend could drink it, and she normally hates 60 Minute due to its bitter/hoppiness.
I mean kudos to them for trying to turn this into a beer bar, but it's not working at the moment. Either they aren't cleaning their lines regularly enough, or that beer has been sitting around way too long. There IS a half-decent bottle selection...sitting under bright fluorescent lights (and probably for a while). Selection was basic, but solid...about 7 craft taps and another ~15 bottles. 60 Minute was the most adventurous thing they had...which isn't saying a lot.
Food is real basic pub grub...burgers, wings, fries, cheesesteaks. Not bad, but nothing special...frozen food thrown on a griddle or in a fryer. You can watch them cook it, which is a little nice plus. The hoisin sesame wings were the best thing we had between both visits.
Atmosphere is...well it's your average bar-in-a-really-old-building. The magnet boards with the beers on tap and in bottle are a nice touch. The oldi-ness of the building also adds to the charm. Last time we were there (on a somewhat brisk day in the middle of May) it was cold inside.
Service, however, was fantastic. We had the same bartender both times. She took the time to learn our names and was very prompt and friendly. She even did the little things like refill my water without asking.
Overall this would be a really place if they took better care of their beer...the Bensalem/Bristol area needs a good beer bar. I just don't get the feeling that they're moving the craft stuff fast enough...I saw a lot of BMC being drunk there, and not much else. Maybe some promos and specials to raise awareness among the local clientele would help. And if the lines aren't being cleaned weekly, that would be a good place to start. In addition, the $4.50 pints, while not an unfair price nowadays, probably aren't helping much to get the locals into it either.
Local pubcrawling options are bleak...like I said, this area really needs a good beer bar. Issac Newton's in Newtown is 10-15 minutes away, that's about it as far as I know.

I am a smoker so the fact that I can smoke at the bar is a plus for me.
I have been to this place more times than I can remember over the last 10+ years. There's only been a handful of bartenders over the years and they are all very pleasant and knowledgeable. A couple of them are even home brewers with above average of knowledge of craft beers.
I find that Monday nights are sometimes the best nights with their specials on craft beers. Weekends are usually the mix of patrons but don't let that stop you.
I feel their food is above average for a bar. The wings and cheesesteaks are some of the best in the Philly area.
The beer selection at The Hulmeville Inn cannot be summed up in one visit. The taps rotate constantly. If the owner happens to be around, he is usually talking to a patron as if they were a close friend. He loves to talk beer and is always open to suggestions for beer to put on tap. There's almost always some brewery or special beer event planned.
The owner hosts a monthly meeting of the local home brew club as well.
If you don't like the smoke, go for lunch when it's not as crowded.

This is a great beer bar in a city known for great beer bars so the stakes are high. They have 20 taps that can range from Moylaner IIPA to Russian River Pliney the Elder and Younger. The day I was there they had a great selection of beers from New Holland to Russian River to Yards and Weyerbacher etc. Great selection on the juke box and they had the Phillies game on the large screen TV. They have a great outside patio but it wasn't open yet they have 40+ micro brewer in cans out there so if it's the summer give it a try they also have a separate food menu for the patio. The food is decent bar food the wings are good the Firehouse burger is one of the best I've had. Overall a solid bar the only negative is it's a smoking bar.

Stopped by here for beers in between in laws. 20 beers on tap, some bmc but most were offerings from victory, voodoo, Troegs, etc. Also had old crustian, and a handle from ballast point.
Beer was served in clean and appropriate glassware. Food smelled good, but we did not eat. Food was average pub offerings.
Service was pretty quick and efficient despite on one bar tender for a full bar.
Atmosphere was a mix of hipster and local low lows. I thought it was fun.
Prices were fair, growlers to go. What more to ask?

Good beer selection, whether you are looking for draught or bottle. They have a beer menu available which tells you when the keg was tapped, the name/type and place of origin, alcohol %, and price. The menu is also updated constantly with new arrivals. Food is pretty decent for bar food, especially their sandwich selection. The building has an old colonial look to it, and probably is from that time. I've been there many times and never experienced any "rift raft" causing problems. Definitely a place to check out.

This place has 21 taps and a cask selection. Always solid choices the bartenders that i encountered were very friendly and seemed to know about the beers that they had. The food menu is basic bar food but not bad i had a Boardwalk Cheesesteak and Old Bay fries and i had no complaints about it. In the back i noticed a pool table. I think they now have an outdoor seating area. This is an old building it looks really cool from the outside. The place is clean also. When ever im up in that area i always make it a point of stopping in. they fill Growlers too. I never been there at night alway around the lunch hour. It seems to have many locals at the bar drinking the Bud and Coors. But they are also friendly. The only complaint about the place is they allow smoking which im fine with just as long as i don't sit right next to a smoker.
P.S i have nothing against the mass beer consumers.

The Hulmeville is my favorite bar in Bucks County. They have about 20 taps, with 15-18 devoted to craft beer. Selection is unbeatable-I've had Russian River(Pliny+), Hill Farmstead, Ballast Point, Cigar City, Deschutes- the list is endless. When you're seated at the bar you're given a full Beer Menu for draft and bottles with descriptions/ABV/glassware for each beer.Prices are pretty consistent at $4.75/pint- can range about a $1 depending on the beer. Mondays are $1.25 off all craft beers. They also do growler fills of almost everything. I've eaten a few times, only tried burger & fry type stuff but food is solid and reasonably priced. Service has always been great. They also have a website that is updated daily with their current tap list, as well as an email list & Twitter account for daily updates. Can't recommend this place enough. One drawback is there is very little parking- often have to park on street or about a block away. Not a big deal but just a heads up. Oh and some people have mentioned the smoking- I don't mind but I suppose some might.

This place is around the corner from me and is probably the best local bar in my opinion. The selection is good with many oddities available. They have special tappings and events regularly. They also recently opened back up the outdoor area and let me tell you this is probably the best part about it. On a nice day it is a great place to spend a meal or afternoon. Fountains, a grill, umbrellas, etc. The food is fairly good the one time I had it. The beer is fairly well priced especially for the area. I'd say the one downfall is the atmosphere inside. It does have the typical things that are associated with a local bar in this area. Smoking, (gasp) normal beer drinkers, etc. It doesn't bother me but I know it could bother others. The service everytime has been good and friendly, from the little conversations I've had about beer they seem to know what they're talking about. Overall I'd like to go here more often and I think it's worth checking out if your just looking for a place in the are where you know you can get different beers.

So I heard about this place from a friend. I got word that they had a good selection of beers and some harder to find choices as well. I looked online and was surprised and interested by the selection. Hulmeville is sort of off the beaten path if you ask me but was worth the trip. A nice selection on-tap and bottle as well for a place outside Philly. Good prices as well. They carried a good amount of local stuff and the bartender seemed friendly. I dont have much to say about the service as we only had a few minor interactions ordering. I wasn't fond of the vibe of this place. It was layed out strange there which is ok but it was FILLED with cigarette smoke. Maybe I'm spoiled living in NJ and hanging in Philly often but to me this part sucked. It seemed like the crowd there werent fans or drinkers of the craft/foreign beers there either(especially seeing a couple pieces of Coors Light clothing). I feel that this place is worth the trip but the location, vib and smoke knocked this one down a couple notches for me.

Great looking bar and I love the beer bottle xmas tree. Enough TV's Nice wood accents. The only drawback is the smoking.
Always friendly service and attentive.
The food is good. But it is basic pub food. Burgers, BLT, Chili, Soup.
The draft beer selection is the best north of Center City. I have had Russian River, Weyebacher 15, Dogfish Head Bitches Brew, Olde School, and Worldwide Stout, etc. Jeff always tries to get the unusual.
Some bottles can be expensive but they are expensive outside the bar.
