On tap at the brewery. Pours amber with a short lived white head. Aroma is of green apple, and caramel malt. Body is medium and smooth. Earthy hops, caramel malt and ripe fruit fill the mouth. The finish is long and semidry. Tasty, easy drinking brew.

On-tap at Barley’s Smokehouse and Brewpub, Columbus, OH
A: The beer is crystal clear yellowish amber in color and has the slightest hints of visible carbonation. It poured with a thin off white head that left a large patch of bubbles in the center and a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: There are light aromas of floral hops in the nose.
T: The taste has a bit of sweetness with flavors of butterscotch and toffee; it gains complexity as the beer warms up.
M: It feels medium-bodied and very smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The beer seems very malty but is very easy to drink and makes a good accompaniment to food.

A- pours a nice golden color with a thin head, no visible carbonation.
S- scent is fresh, floral with a slight pine scent.
T- very roasty up front with a strong pear-like flavor in the middle that was very unique, and I liked it, followed by a floral, drier finish.
M- the carbonation comes alive and balances well with the medium body.
D- very good in this category, unique in the flavor, but I could have consumed multiple of these.

Rock on with your kilt wearing self, MacLenny! Feeling the breeze between thy knees, I am loving the scottish winds here. Hoptastic. The feel on the wouth is of complete hop domination, the color is strong, the matliness is as bold as a lassie named MacLenny!

Probably my favorite of all the brews I tried at Barley's.
It poured a very pale amber/gold color with good head and lacing. It had a great scent, with butterscotch and caramel aromas, very sweet. Excellent taste, too, nice and sweet with a little hoppy finish; toffee and butterscotch flavors were apparent with hints of vanilla as well. It was a little rough going down, but still nice. A very good beer.

Enjoyed on tap at Barley's Smokehouse and Brewpub
Smell, doughy, with clean grains and a faint hop character
Taste, Clean and very crisp, dry. Dough flavors from the yeast are heavy, but grains and a light hop presence help balance things out.
Overall, a darn good Scotch Ale. I would love this to be a house beer at a brewpub near me.

Had on tap at the Smokehouse and reviewed from notes. Served a crisp orange with a thin diminishing head. The aroma was dominated by caramel malts. There was abundant caramel malts in the taste as well against some very subdued hops. The beer was medium bodied with slight alcohol warmth. This a a very enjoyable beer, even for a hophead like me.
