A. I really, really like this place. Its just a bit dark, with a really cool bar area. You will normally see me sitting there.
Q. Everything there is good, from the food to the beer selection, plus they have wine and liquor to suit everybody's needs.
S. Service has always been really good, some barkeeps are more knowledgable than others, but everyone there is really nice and I like to hang out there.
S. Selection is good, with 12 rapidly rotating taps where its to the point every time I go there , something new is on tap. Sometimes I'm there days in a row. Like the past two days, and tonight.
F. The food there is pretty good. I enjoy the Buffalo Chicken dip and the Bocktown burger.
Value: The brew is a bit pricey. Food not too bad. Keg prices vary, anything high ABV seems to be way over priced. Six packs to go are also very expensive but the selection is very good most of the time.

I come to Pittsburgh 4-5 times a year and I hardly ever skip this place. First time I was here was a couple of weeks after it opened, Christmas 06. I was very impressed with the beer selection and quality. Now after God knows how many visits over the past six plus years, I'm still happy everytime I walk through their door. Finally getting around to giving them the review they deserve. Don't miss this place if you're in the area. Great beer and food.

This is the anti-strip mall restaurant, that happens to be located in a strip mall. Clearly, there has been thought put into things here. Decor is nice and well done; you don't feel at all like you are in a huge shopping center. Big bonus points for no lights in the coolers. Selection is thorough, and I actually saw things I haven't seen anywhere else in Pittsburgh. It bums me out when I see that a restaurant won't cook a burger below medium though. They always end up coming well done and cooked through when that happens. And people are saying they are focusing on higher quality food? I don't see that. Not with a pre-processed and smushed to smithereens beef patty. My compliments to the chef/cook for still being able to turn out a nice enough burger though. Will adjust my score and comments on service if I visit again as I don't want to base my entire opinion based on one experience.

Chris and Tara command alot from a deserving staff. Lots of beer knowledge, good service and a most pleasant atomosphere, especially sitting outside on the patio on a cool night.
Food selection is good, best she-crab soup ever!
Beer selection, we were drinking beers that had just come into Pittsburgh before others were geting them. Can't beat that plus they have beers that are no longer available elsewhere. Watch for their specials, plus the BIG bottle specials on Sunday which favor the wallet.
Can't go wrong with good beer and great food, they definitely have a winner!

Have been to this place a couple of times passing through the Pittsburgh area, always nice to find a place with a large beer selection.
Atmosphere: the restaurant is located on the end of a strip mall, with a narrow and deep dining and bar area indoors, as well as outside seating (I have yet to sit outside when visiting). The front dining area features booths opposite nine beer bottle coolers and the bar area. All-in-all, the place seems a bit cramped with tables set up between booths and the bar, which can make it seem very crowded at times.
Service: typical pub service, seemed a bit slow at times, but it was busy on my last visit so it was reasonable wait under the circumstances. They also bagged up my to-go beer selections, which was nice.
Selection: about 11-12 taps to choose from, nice range of items, the occasional out-of-season on there as well (they had Troegs Mad Elf on tap in July). Their bottle selection is presented in an 8-9 door cooler case, fairly good selection from local/regional microbrews to harder to find selections (especially in PA given their archaic and bureaucratic beer distribution laws), also a fair amount of imported crafts.
Food: hasn't dissapointed me yet, typical pub food menus, some items with Pittsburgh-style touches. They also pride themselves on being part of the "localvore" movement, with much of their ingredients from the area. Their fries are top knotch as well, hand cut Idaho potatoes customizable with 30+ toppings to add to them, large servings of fries with a fair price.
Value: I would say that the food and on tap prices are reasonable/a bit pricey, but their bottle prices, even with the to-go discount had a higher markup than expected. Not a place I would go regularly to stop up on some different beers, but very good food and on-tap selections.

I had a chance to visit this place with some friends late thursday evening. First thing i noticed was the many colorful craft brew advertising signs both outside and indoors and the many self serve coolers for their bottle selection.
We had been place at a table pretty much instantly as we walked in and the waitress took our drink orders. They had a nice selection of craft beers on tap and a huge selection of over priced bottles.
As we enjoyed our first order of beers we browsed the menu for some tasty eats. At that time I noticed small bugs or gnats flying around us and one even took a swim in my beer.(they had the doors open all night to the outside beer garden so the bugs most likely came from there) I thought of saying something but just fished it out and continued to enjoy my beer.
After the food arrived we all shared a bite of the many things we had ordered. Most of the food i had tried was average to good and seemed a bit to expensive.
We finished eating and browsed the giant bottle selection before enjoying the beer garden for one last drink. The cheap flimsy plastic tables could sure use an upgrade.
Overall the experience was just average/good but lacks anything to make me want to return. I might though someday as I remember seeing signs for live music and special events on weekends.

I have been to this place multiple times. Pretty small place, tucked into a random strip center in the consumerist mecca that is Robinson. Honestly, when I come with my buddies, we come for the Bocktown Burger. Probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. Their other burgers simply do not compare to this one. Fries are also very good here. They always have craft beer on tap, but some of it can be hit or miss in terms of selection and quality. Also, there are no deals or a happy hour, which is definitely a bummer. Large bottle selection, but I have never gotten any because of the price mark-up. Service is pretty meh, as waiters usually don't ask to refill your water and are generally pretty slow. A burger, fries, and a couple beers will run you $20+. In all honesty, if I just want good beer for cheaper, I head over to Mad Mex or Sharp Edge during their Happy Hours. However, I really do enjoy this place solely for a Bocktown Burger, Fries, and some good beer.

You walk in and their are colors with loose six packs and bombers on your left, and then the bar behind that. I was their for the Beaver Brewing tasting. The quality of the selection was good, a good well rated stuff was in the coolers and on tap. The selection was also good, with their being some stuff I hadn't seen at other six pack stores and bars. The food was average, some of the stuff was good, but others were disappointing. The pricing for bottles seemed a bit high, but the on tap selections seem to be okay.

Hit this place up on 11/10
This is a great little bar that I wish I had known about earlier in my stay in Pittsburgh! Several tables line the place, with a rather small but nice bar. 15 taps lines with a nice variation of Great Lakes, Bells, Victory, Duck Rabbit and other beers. When you first walk in, there is a huge cooler of beers where you can mix and match. Dear god, I could go wild here! Next time, I'm driving to Pitt so that I can mix and match til my heart is content!
Service was good, and the food looked and smelled incredible... sadly, I was unable to try anything.
I would definitely hit this place up again on my next trip out to the Burgh!

I have been here a few times. Overall I like it. The bartenders/barmaids know their beer. The food is pretty good with some nice unusual combinations. The fries are awesome. There are 15 taps and they take care of the lines well. There is a huge selection of bottles. They also do a mix and match take out six packs as well as bombers. Wednesdays there are free tastings and Tuesdays there is live music. The service is good even when crowded. Value is about as expected. A good place to visit if you are near Robinson Towne Center.
