12oz. bottle poured into a snifter.
(A)- Pours a burnt sienna brown color. Some tan froth.
(S)- A slightly smoky oatmeal and cocoa driven profile. Slight hint at a rustic nuttiness.
(T)- A bit of a honey and nutty sweetness to it overall.
(M)- A mellow carbonation level. Quite sweet overall with a mellow nuttiness.
(O)- A bit sweet, particularly for the english variety

This is a brown that has been very well done. Living in Wisconsin makes it hard to find, thankfully Minnesota is just an hour away. Worth the drive to pick up a few cases of this beer. Caramel and chocolate with a nice malt flavor that has me wanting more and more. It feels a little grainy in the mouth, but has a great finish, not to bitter.

Thanks to Tom for sending me this one.
Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Founders snifter.
A - pours a clean, clear medium brown with a finger and a half of creamy light khaki head.
S - malty, nutty, slight sweet, slightly caramel.
T - toasty with a slightly nutty sweet combintion. Very tasty for a brown ale. Fairly malty but not overly sweet. Sweet bread. A slight drying affect on the palate, most likely from some biscuit malts.
M - medium to medium light bodied. Slightly creamy and dry at the same time.
D - easy drinking for me. Modest ABV and a great taste makes this a fntastic drink on a cool Ohio evening.
Overall, a beer I am surprisingly digging. Brown Ales aren't the most sexy beer of all times, but this one comes across with a fantastic mix of sweet, malt, bread and grain to make an exceptional beer.

Poured from the bottle into a standard pint glass.
Appearance: Pours a cloudy brown with a half finger of off white head that fades to a ring around the pour.
Smell: Lots of dark fruit with some brown sugar and slightly sweet grain. Definitely a malt forward beer.
Taste: The taste doesn't live up to the smell if you ask me. The bitterness is a bit too strong and overpowers the sweeter notes. There is a slightly tart dark fruit note in the background.
Mouthfeel: Medium body with large bubbles and a dry finish.
Overall: This one was a bit too bitter for me. Smells quite nice, but I don't think I'd look this way again if I want a brown.

A - Pours a nice dark ruby red with a brown hue, thumb of big bubbled head with some retention and some sporadic lacing.
S - Scent is dominated by bitter cocoa, hints of metallic raspberries and an espresso finish.
T - Classic brown ale, offering up more sweet milk chocoalte than the bitter cocoa, the finish provides hints of espresso and burnt toast, toasted almonds and buttery biscuits.
M - Medium, smooth and wet.
O - For a random single, this provided loads of flavour and was definitely fitting of the style. A true sessionable brown ale that packs a little extra ABV that goes completely undetected. Well worth a try, a tasty ale indeed.

I was surprised at how dark this poured out of the bottle. Head was minimal. Initial nose was malty, indicating that this wouldn't be some Newcastle knockoff. Indeed, this thing is full of delicious malt! It's well balanced with its hops and very drinkable. Th final.is just like the start - malty. All in all, a surprisingly good beer. Will bring a couple more six packs home when I'm in MN.
