Visited this place for the Eclipse release. The actual restaurant itself is a touch small with the bar area being in my opinion the right size. Needless to say the atmosphere for the party was absolutely insane. I did stop in earlier in the day to check the place out and it was filled with locals and had a good vibe. The service was second to none. I pretty much hung out at the bar all night and chatted with the bartenders Justin and Tiffany were both awesome and very helpful. The selection of food and were beer were just right. Not to much to point where you just get uninterested and not too little to the point where you really can't find what you are looking for. The food was tasty and worth the price. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone and hopefully I will be able to land another ticket for next years release

My first time coming was for the Eclipse pre-release party last December, and what an amazing party and atmosphere. I have been back since then and their service continues to amaze me. I was most recently at FiftyFifty for their 4th Anniversary party, and from the time My friends and I(abellcal98, porkinator, and loki83) walked in we were treated like royalty. Todd and Kyle made our time amazing by letting us sample some upcoming brews and also City Beer Baril Rouge Baltique. I could not believe we were getting such amazing hospitality. The food is pretty amazing as well, and not too expensive. I really enjoy coming here because I know I will be treated like they actually want my patronage. What I would say is, if someone is ever near, coming through, or in, Truckee, FiftyFifty is one of the best places to stop. And not to mention they brew some of the most amazing Barrel aged stouts around, Eclipse; and also there IPAs are amazing too.

The place is modern, but yet somehow down home comfortable. Indoor/outdoor seating.
No problem with the service, they paid as much attention to me, as they did the locals, wich I loved.
Food and beer were of great quality. Very impressive, as it was not their head chef in the kitchen that day. Nice selection on the menu.
Loved the beer. Got a growler of their porter, it was fantastic, and I am not even a porter drinker. Also got a few bottles of their concentrated evil. Amazing taste at 11 abv.
Only complaint on this place is the cost of refilling/filling a growler. average price is around $16. Although it is worth that, it is much higher than the average of other places. Lame complaint, but felt I should come up with something bad about 50/50.
Currently finding a reason to make it back to Truckee.

I finally made it to FiftyFifty this year, lured by their Eclipse pre-release party. Special events aside, the brewpub itself is a cool spot. It has a lodge-like appearance with a small grain silo outside that adds a nice touch. The interior is largely wooden, though quite modern. Seating is ample, a medium-sized bar sits probably 20 people and there are plenty of tables.
Beer is the reason I went, and it didn't disappoint. House beers ranged from good to excellent, and Eclipse, of course, is otherworldly. The brewpub serves good albeit fairly expensive food, as well. The menu is diverse, offering more than just typical pub fare.
Service was consistently good, especially at the Eclipse pre-release party, which was one of the most organized and fun beer events I've been to. The brewers were on hand to chat and answer questions about their beers, a nice touch.
A great little brewpub overall, well worth visiting for the beer alone.

A relatively new brewpub located in Truckee. The atmosphere is a bit upscale. A bar, a few tall tables near the bar, and then a few booths and tables in the other half of the restaurant. They had about 8 beers on tap. A porter, IPA, DIPA, stout, blonde, and a few belgian styles. I had the DIPA and it was very tasty, a very good beer. The food is a bit on the pricy side but everything we ordered was very good. A very good brewpub and a great addition to the Tahoe beer scene. Definitely a must stop if you are lucky enough to be in the area.

Nice little pizza joint in a beautiful mountain town. Super friendly staff. Good tap selection, plus bottles of Eclipse's to go. Had some Old Fitzgerald on tap. Kinda pricey but well worth it. Didn't get a chance to try the food but from what I saw it looked good. Definetly going back.

On a whim my husband and I decided to drive from Tahoe to Truckee, CA to see what brewpubs were in the area. He couldn't remember any names, so he ran into a bar and they told him to go to Fifty Fifty. OH MY GOSH! Turns out it was the best brewpub of our trip. It was very clean and lively. The service was great and our waitress really knew the beer. There were a couple of questions she didn't know the answer to, so she wrote them down and asked the brewmaster (who was sitting at the bar). They had a nice, large chalkboard hanging that listed all the beers with ABV & IBUs for all the beer geeks. After having a sampler, I had a 1/2 pint of the Donner Party Porter. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

As usual I try to scout out good beer locales when out of town and this was the third on the agenda for the Reno/Tahoe area we hit. Nice somewhat upscale decor with a lot of reddish woods that created a nice blend of modern and natural. Very reminiscent of other apres ski brewpubs I've visited in the Rockies. The food and decor were nice, but the star of this place is the beer! Mostly lighter spring/summer beers on tap, but I had to have their Donner Party Porter and it was just awesome. Tons of flavor and substance not to mention it packed a pretty good punch @ 6.7% abv. The wife absolutely loved the Rockslide IPA which was so citrusy you'd almost think it was grapefruit infused. Service was good on our first visit, sat at a bartop and waitress was fine. Stopped by on our last day in the area after driving to Chico to sample SN's fare and the bartenders were just great. As we were married on Lake Tahoe just a couple of days prior, they both bought us rounds on the house, and were very friendly and accommodating. An absolute must place to seek out if in the Tahoe area.

Loved it! The Wife and I visited five brewpubs in the Reno/Tahoe area recently and this one was the best. Best beer of the trip, best service, and the food was pretty good. The Kolsch was my favorite while The Wife liked the Donner Party Porter the best. However she loved the Manifesto Pale Ale and being that she doesn't normally like Pales I consider that high praise.
The only complaint was their award winning Imperial Stout was still sitting in the whiskey barrels right next to our table and wouldn't be tapped for a couple of weeks so we had to sit there staring at them.
If you're in the area I highly recommend the place and it will be the first place I go if I ever get back.

We were in Sacramento visiting the in-laws & made the 180 mile round trip to try their beer & pick up a few bottles of the barrel aged Eclipse. That 30% chance of precipitation turned into a *little* snow storm - wifey was not happy about that...
But I digress... nice looking place, just what one would hope for in a mountain town - cozy, comfy, folks shaking off the chill. nice little 10-12 seat bar with 15-20 tables sprinkled around. the brewing tanks were set up on two levels at the back of the place, excellent utilization of the space. It was about 1/2 full, not too noisy, some families around - good vibe. I ran into Andy, the owner & a very nice guy, he told me about their plans for more barrel storage in his very limited space (e.g. "tucking six over there once we move the Christmas tree"). that's good news for all, I believe.
So we sat at the bar, initially the tender seemed a little short with us & I thought this was gonna be one of those days struggling to get service, but all was well. Guess she was a little stressed when we sat, but turned out to be very nice & did a great job. We tried a few samplers & decided on pints of the two Belgians to start - the Trifecta triple & Concentrated Evil, a dark brown. Both were great. We finished with a couple of 8 oz snifters the Elijah Craig Eclipse - excellent.
We ordered the bleu cheese & applewood bacon burger with shoestring onion rings and the french dip with sweet potato fries. we also had a bowl of their shiitake mushroom soup which was really well done. the burger came med rare, as ordered, and had so much bleu cheese & bacon that my wife kept off-loading it onto my plate (happily it worked quite well with the French dip). My sandwich had a very tasty horseradish sauce - nicely balanced with a little heat, not overpowering at all - it was pretty good sized portion (the sandwich, not the horseradish). the fries & rings were both great and served in Claim Jumper sized piles.
With the snow, we didn't want to drive over the pass once the temp got too low (remember the last "party" that tried to do that...) so unfortunately we had to cut the visit short. I'll definitely make a return trip - maybe next time in the summer...
