Recently visited the area, and what a find! It is a beautiful little brewpub, very clean and unique, california-esque interior. The food was kind of pricey, but very high quality for brewpub food. And the beers were exceptional! My table tried nearly everything on tap, which was a great selection - gold, blonde, pale ale, ipa, porter, double ipa, and a bourbon barrel imperial stout. All beers were crafted excellently and to style - the bourbon barrel imperial stout was phenomenal, a beer one should seek out if visiting the area. Overall, it was a great spot...the one negative was the bud light tap handle I saw behind the bar(this pains me everytime I see this in brewpubs: why have a BMC line when your beers are sooo good?! and your gold is so light and drinkable?!).

Stopped in for a couple beers: Highland Session and Charles on the rye. They were fine. I just had some fries, which were good, but I’m not going to rate food off of a plate of fries. The service was prompt and good. The value pretty standard. They had 14 of their own on tap with some interesting looking barrel aged versions. Worth stopping in if you’re trucking through Truckee.

Nice little pizza joint in a beautiful mountain town. Super friendly staff. Good tap selection, plus bottles of Eclipse's to go. Had some Old Fitzgerald on tap. Kinda pricey but well worth it. Didn't get a chance to try the food but from what I saw it looked good. Definetly going back.

Visited this place for the Eclipse release. The actual restaurant itself is a touch small with the bar area being in my opinion the right size. Needless to say the atmosphere for the party was absolutely insane. I did stop in earlier in the day to check the place out and it was filled with locals and had a good vibe. The service was second to none. I pretty much hung out at the bar all night and chatted with the bartenders Justin and Tiffany were both awesome and very helpful. The selection of food and were beer were just right. Not to much to point where you just get uninterested and not too little to the point where you really can't find what you are looking for. The food was tasty and worth the price. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone and hopefully I will be able to land another ticket for next years release

Great place up in North Lake Tahoe. The inside is well thought out with numerous tables and a nice bar. Outside eating area as well, which is covered in the winter/colder months.
Service has always been good, no problems there. Food is not bad but a bit pricey. Beer is a bit pricey comparable to other brewpubs as well, but the quality is certainly there. They generally have a stout or two (usually Totality and sometimes Eclipse, the barrel aged version of Totality), 1-2 IPAs and a few lighter brews on tap (generally between 6-8 house brews on at once).
Their stouts are outstanding, particularly Eclipse and I enjoy the IPAs as well (Rockslide, Landslide, RyePA, Red is the new black IPA). Growlers are available.
By far one of the best spots to stop off at in the area and highly recommended if you're in the area. Very nice atmosphere and well worth a visit.

A: Beautiful drive up the east edge of Lake Tahoe to get there from south Lake Tahoe, worth it alone. Fifty, Fifty itself is in a stretch of all wood, lodge type establishments, which fit right in the area of tall mountains, ponds, (Lake Tahoe) and 5 story tall pine trees. Inside, the large 20+ feet vaulted ceilings, dark wood work, clean post modern lines, and just a clean place all around.
Q: Good food, good beer, clean plates, clean glasses, reasonable prices, so good quality.
S: We made two stops in while visting, once for lunch, and once for dinner on a Tuesday. During lunch, there was not even 12 people in there, so service was quick. Dinner, probably 50 people in there, and service was still very solid.
S: They had most of their beers on tap (no Eclipse, but I didn’t expect any either) Black Butte as a guest tap, as well as SN pale ale. I kind of expected a few more taps, but the selection was adequate.
F: We had a Margherita pizza, and it was very tasty, as were our salads & appetizers. Portions were good, not enormous, and not tiny.
V: In no way wallet busting, but not a dirt cheap pub either. It's a middle to upper middle class restaurant basically, so the prices fit accordingly, as do the product(s)
Overall, worth the trek if your in the area, as to my knowledge it is the only craft brewery within at least 100 miles, if not more. They didn't have ANY bottles for sale to go, which was a downer while there, but I did fill a growler of Totality for a friend, and got a taster flight (twice). My wife made the comment that this reminded her of what she always felt BJ's should/could be, and perhaps that's as ample a description as any (as far a quality in houss pizza's & fresh made craft beer) I did say that perhaps that's true of BJ's, 25+ years ago!
No idea what Todd & crew long term plans are, but I doubt restaurant chain is one, but since the place is a pretty good restaurant & bar, and not just some brewery in an industrial warehouse, I can see the analogy.

My first time coming was for the Eclipse pre-release party last December, and what an amazing party and atmosphere. I have been back since then and their service continues to amaze me. I was most recently at FiftyFifty for their 4th Anniversary party, and from the time My friends and I(abellcal98, porkinator, and loki83) walked in we were treated like royalty. Todd and Kyle made our time amazing by letting us sample some upcoming brews and also City Beer Baril Rouge Baltique. I could not believe we were getting such amazing hospitality. The food is pretty amazing as well, and not too expensive. I really enjoy coming here because I know I will be treated like they actually want my patronage. What I would say is, if someone is ever near, coming through, or in, Truckee, FiftyFifty is one of the best places to stop. And not to mention they brew some of the most amazing Barrel aged stouts around, Eclipse; and also there IPAs are amazing too.

I finally made it to FiftyFifty this year, lured by their Eclipse pre-release party. Special events aside, the brewpub itself is a cool spot. It has a lodge-like appearance with a small grain silo outside that adds a nice touch. The interior is largely wooden, though quite modern. Seating is ample, a medium-sized bar sits probably 20 people and there are plenty of tables.
Beer is the reason I went, and it didn't disappoint. House beers ranged from good to excellent, and Eclipse, of course, is otherworldly. The brewpub serves good albeit fairly expensive food, as well. The menu is diverse, offering more than just typical pub fare.
Service was consistently good, especially at the Eclipse pre-release party, which was one of the most organized and fun beer events I've been to. The brewers were on hand to chat and answer questions about their beers, a nice touch.
A great little brewpub overall, well worth visiting for the beer alone.

Located right in the heart of Truckee, wooden appearance, grain holder out front. Patio seating when there is good weather. Good long bar, lots of tables, clean bathrooms.
They make some good, if not great beers. Easily the best thing within reach of Northern Nevada. Ryepa, all the imperial stout variations, rockslide, landslide. These are all excellent and outstanding. If I may, I would say get the non barrel versions of their stouts, far less costly. I mean, its just not worth it from a cost benefit analysis. $6 for Totality, $22+ for the other varieties.
Always something different available there. Never the same old selection. Good prices too. Pizza is usually pretty decent. Nothing fabulous, but compliments the excellent beer. Some high end milf tail usually up in this place, sometimes as the servers. This is a great place to hit up after a good day on the slopes, or after the Truckee beer fest, or when coming home from the Bay Area.
Its my favorite place within 200 miles of my home.

The place is modern, but yet somehow down home comfortable. Indoor/outdoor seating.
No problem with the service, they paid as much attention to me, as they did the locals, wich I loved.
Food and beer were of great quality. Very impressive, as it was not their head chef in the kitchen that day. Nice selection on the menu.
Loved the beer. Got a growler of their porter, it was fantastic, and I am not even a porter drinker. Also got a few bottles of their concentrated evil. Amazing taste at 11 abv.
Only complaint on this place is the cost of refilling/filling a growler. average price is around $16. Although it is worth that, it is much higher than the average of other places. Lame complaint, but felt I should come up with something bad about 50/50.
Currently finding a reason to make it back to Truckee.
