On tap at the brewery, poured into a very small 8 oz goblet. $5 but and 8 oz glass is a lil steep.
A: foggy light yellow. white head that didn't last long.
S: fruity, bright and subtle
T: Very bright and fruity. banana, citrus, with some weird funkiness
M: Light, smooth undemanding but kind of boring.
O: Not for the 5 bucks for such a small glass but was very enjoyable and tasted different than most tripels Ive tried.

On tap at Blue Palms Brewhouse in Los Angeles, CA as part of the FiftyFifty Eclipse Release Party.
Pours a murky orange brown with no head and no lacing. Smell is pretty straightforward with grains, spices, and yeast. Taste is of grains, spices, yeast, and some citrus juice flavors. This beer has a higher level of carbonation with a crisp and slightly acidic mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good tripel but it's somewhat juice-like and acidic.

It should be noted that this is the fourth review (out of 7) from one bottle.
Pours a shockingly clear pale gold color with almost grey soft lacing.
Slightly spicy and yeasty aroma with an odd savory note. Almost like rosemary.
Spicy and lightly fruity yeast flavors with a hit of alcohol. Almost like a cross between a Belgian Strong Pale and a Trippel. Not very well integrated.
Mouthfeel is hot and crisp. Very interesting, and it worked for this particular beer. Not very trippely.
Not particularly tasty or drinkable. Won't buy again.

S: Little cheesiness to it. Light malts.
A: Completely clear yellow. Avg. head w/ok lace.
T: Don't get the cheese in the taste luckily. Little fruity sweetness. Little boozy finish.
M/D: Avg. Not too boozy, fairly thin and dry. Fairly simple and balanced.
Overall: Not too much happening in the flavor dept.

Bottle courtesy photomike. Pours clear gold with a fizzy off-white head. Aroma is a little cheesy, along with notes of banana pith, cloves, and peppery alcohol. Pear/apple/banana fruitiness comes through in the flavor but not very strongly. Accents of bubblegum and spices. Boozy. Dry finish. Not enough depth in flavor to justify the alcohol here.

22 ounce bottle poured into a pint glass. Comes in at 11%. Red line is in the box where they put the bottle number and year.
A-Pours a semi hazy light peach color that reminds me of grapefruit juice. When held to the light it has some visible orange glow. It has a one finger off white head with so-so retention.
S-Lots of the usual tripel aromas. I get lots of Belgian yeast, banana, clove, sweet fruit, and some grain.
T-It starts out with a slew of various flavors. Belgian yeast, candy sugar, banana, and rum soaked raisins impart a definite sweetness. In a lot of ways it tastes like a really good tropical drink. As it warms I get some vanilla/marshmallow. Perhaps they use some oak chips to mellow the booze?
M-Medium bodied and nicely carbonated to style.
D-The booze is somewhat hidden, but will definitely catch up fast. I felt splitting this with my cousin was the perfect serving size.
Another good beer from FiftyFifty. Nice to see this one in bottles. Worth checking out.

Growler fro the brewpub. This beer seems to have changed from when they started brewing it. The alcohol is higher--11% now, and it is dryer than earlier reviews indicate. Opague orange in color with a lasting frothy white head. Orange, clove, and peppery alcohol aroma. The flavor is dry wit peppery alcohol, herbal hop flavor, light doughy malt, bubble gum, and some banana pith. Finished quite dry. A dry, spicy, and alcoholic tripel. Good elements for the most part, but I think this would be better if it was a couple points down in alcohol. The heat just gets too in the way of drinkability.

Bomber bought at the brewery on vacation. Nice silkscreened bottle, #158-2008.
Cool bright orange color with a neat yellow fade at the top. Thick white head drops to a thin layer.
Sweet candi sugar smell with a bit of honey. A bit of malt in there too. Despite all the sweetness, it smells quite good.
Sweet malt with honey, but not cloying. The alcohol is definitely noticeable. Despite all the sweetness, the hops cut through it in the end. Pretty damn tasty.
Pretty light mouthfeel, apparently as intended.
Good all the way around, but not particularly memorable. Definitely worthy, although there are better values out there than the $10 price tag on this one. I'd highly recommend the brewpub though...
Tasted on 4/22/08.

Amazing taste, and brewed with a honey, that gives it an extremely smooth, albeight sweet taste. Very similar to Chimay Reserve.
With 9 percent alcohol, this one will sneak up on you fast! Excellent example of a Belgian Trippel from someone who hasnt done it before.
