I made a trip to Hoppin' Frog to get some BA DORIS. It is located in an industrial park at the production facility. I arrived 5-10 minutes before they opened. I was surprised to see to other cars with people waiting. A line actually formed.
The doors opened up promptly at 5p. I sat down and looked at the draft list and was amazed at the selection. They had about every beer that they made. There were several that I had not even heard of before. They also had some great guest taps, but who needs them when there is such a selection of house beers available. They also had bottled beer for onsite consumption or to go.
I, of course, went straight for the barrel-aged beers. I also happened to be there for "Tower Tuesday." They pick two beers each Tuesday to pour into 100 ounce beer towers over selected coffee beans. On the day that I was there the poured Cleveland Crusher over banana nut coffee beans, and Frosted Frog over southern pecan coffee beans. Both were fantastic.
The beers were available in 5, 8, and 16 ounce pours. I liked the fact that I could try small amounts of higher ABV beer and not get rocked. Their beers are not the cheapest. That is the reason I have limited experience with their beer given the widespread availability. An eight ounce pour of BA DORIS was $6.99. Although I was there for happy hour, and it was $.50 cheaper ($1 off 16oz pours).
They had a limited menu, but they were appealing dishes. I had a fall platter that consisted of pork tenderloins with apple chutney and mashed sweet potatoes. It was delicious. Frosted Frog was the recommended beer pairing. I had the pecan coffee infused version with my meal, and it was one of the best meals and pairings I have had in a long while.
Basically, what I am saying is that I loved my experience at the taproom. The food was great. The beer was amazing. There were no televisions which encouraged conversation which was easy to do because the place got packed quickly. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. The prices on the beer are a little high. The food prices were fine. I cannot wait to go back.

High end Tasting Room atmosphere. 24 beers on tap and a few more in bottles. Creative and ever changing. Tower Tuesday features various HF and other beers poured through hop towers over flavored coffee beans, spices and/or fresh hops as the mood strikes Fred Karm (brewmaster). Wednesday is blendsday making half and half combinations from a variety of selections. Other specials and promotions throughout the week.

Stopped through wile on tour to grab a beer on our way to Cleveland. Their tasting room is great! Between their to-go beers and on tap they almost everything available. I stopped in particular for the Bairille Aois B.O.R.I.S. which was amazing. Definitely recommend stopping by if your in the area.
