Notes:
American hops dominate this Rye I.P.A, creating an assertive citrus and passion fruit character. An old-world flavor from rye malt adds the perfect compliment to Goose Juice’s big, satisfying hop flavor and aroma. Originally home-brewed by our beloved brewer Goose, its wonderful combination of flavors inspired us to brew this specialty I.P.A.

A: Very hazy copper color, with lots of tiny carbonation bubbles visible under a ring-like eggshell white head.
S: Some hop aroma, but fairly subdued. It has a faint scent of pine and cat. Not a whole lot going on.
T: At first some of the pine-like hop character comes through, then it fades quickly leaving some bitterness and a light rustic bread flavor in the aftertaste. Not that bitter though.
M: The first impression I get from the mouthfeel is how wet it feels. It is medium bodied, and lightly carbonated. I would have liked it to be a bit drier, with more carbonation.
O: Overall the beer was pretty good, but nothing really stood out. The rye seemed to come through in the aftertaste, but the IPA portion of the beer seemed to be lacking a bit. It could have used a boost to flavor and bitterness. I did enjoy drinking it, but it felt very average.

Acquired in a trade, poured from a 22 oz. bomber.
A - Hazy golden straw mixed with a little amber, had a nice two-finger head and decent lacing.
S - Sweet malts, rye, a sweet orange and tropical fruit scent really comes through the end. Almost a sticky pineapple smell, too.
T - Smooth wave of flavors, hints of orange, finishes with hops and rye and an incredible breadiness.
M - Medium body with an amazing aftertaste that makes you want another sip, very drinkable.
O - Probably my favorite Rye IPA I've had. Great flavor wave and drinkability for a rye.

Hoppin' Frog Brewery - Hopped-Up Goose Juice - 1pt 6fl oz "bomber"
Look - Pours a hazy caramel amber with an ever so slight reddish-brown tint. Nice soapy head with sticky fresh lacing.
Smell - Bitter citrus and resin hops with faint caramel malts and bready rye.
Taste - Smooth malt and hops together blended nicely. Bready rye comes in after and sits on the sides and in your throat. A little gentle on the palate, wanted it to "kick" a bit more. The hops are more like the "smooth fruits" like the melons rather than the grapefruit style that usually gives these types of brews a stark contrast to work with on the taste end. It just was not here.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied, not overly sticky and not boozy at all. Good drinkability. Super smooth tasty rye. Again here same with taste, it's smooth and good but no "oomph".
Overall - Good rye AIPA, commpare to Founders Red's Rye PA for a punchier version, although that one is technically a "Rye Beer" and not an AIPA, it still has several similarities with all the key enhancements most might be looking for. The Goose Juice is super smooth, which I believe was their point, so in that regard it is a great brew.

A - Reddish golden, one inch of frothy cream colored head, sticky lacing and LOTS of floating yeast, obviously very hazy
S - Citrus, orange, rye, bubblegum, lemon,
T - Initial: Carmel, lemon, orange. finish: Rye infused grapefruit pericarp that lingers. bitterness is a 3/10.
M - Really frothy, thick and creamy. very nice.
O - I love grapefruit. What i don't like is the white, vieny portion of the inside of the rhine of a grapefruit. This beer taste just like a rye infused portion of that (or maybe is that the passionfruit coming thru?)- and leaves a coating on your mouth. Nose is medium, Mouth is excellent and lastly a bit more sour lemon that desired.

22oz bottle no freshness date.
Appearance: Hazy bronze-orange with a one finger white head
Aroma: orange juice, citrusy hops, a little pungent. rye malt spiciness is there as well.
Taste: A mix between spicy rye malt with citrusy hops. Nothing over the top here. Flavor is a bit underwhelming. I guess I look more for the hops and this one is very rye forward.
Mouthfeel: Medium body with medium carbonation. Decent balance with rye malt and citrusy hops makes it pretty drinkable but it's not really up my alley. Average.

First had: bottle purchased at the brewery
A somewhat hazy copper/amber pour, with a healthy white head that retained well and laced the glass. Nice aroma of fresh citrusy hops with a background earthy rye profile. More of the same in the taste, citrusy hops, toasty rye and otherwise biscuity malts, forming a good balance, and creating a rather dry bitterness. Slick mouthfeel, light-medium body, easily drinkable, pretty good overall.
