Brought a 22oz bomber to a tasting.
Sadly this is my first hoppin frog beer, so I can't compare this to the BORIS or BA BORIS.
This was way more hoppy then I was expecting, but if you have had BORIS, maybe that wouldnt be a surprise? Taste was very good. smoky chocolate and caramel balance the hops very well. Low carbonation made the feel very thick and sticky.
I'd say definitely something to share with friends as it packs a punch and is pretty intense.
edit: now that i've had BORIS and BA BORIS, I can say this is nothing like it. HUGE hoppy flavor (at least when fresh). Its a great beer, but I'm letting this one lay down for a while.

From notes. Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a tulip.
My pour is a burnt char mahogany black color with a nice creamy mocha froth on top.
The aroma hits hard with smooth dark chocolate, roasted malt, some espresso, and a bit of smoke.
As this was tasted side by side with BORIS, it is interesting to see the distinction between the two. Overall, this has a fuller and less bitter flavor. It is not too far on the sweet end of the spectrum either. The roasted malt and dark chocolate flavors are allowed to shine through without having any cloying aspect to the flavor. Some smoke, creamy espresso, and a bit of dark fruits add further depth to the flavor.
A big, thick, viscous body really adds to my enjoyment of this beer, accounting for a slightly higher score than BORIS. The carbonation is about the same; they both have moderately full, creamy carbonation that works well with the beer.
Overall, I found this to be a well-made, balanced, and enjoyable full-bodied imperial stout.

Poured from a bomber into a snifter, the beer pours a thick, viscous, jet black coloring with a thin, foamy, dark brown head that quickly settles out on the surface. Aromas of biscuit, dark baker's chocolate, coffee, toasted grains, a hint of smoke, and some earthy/woody tones. Booze hints on the nose, also. Flavors are extremely rich, with a base of dark, bitter baker's chocolate and a hint of bitter, roasted coffee. Ribbons of earthy and woody tones throughout, with a vanilla and molasses highlight, also. Very reach and smoothly blended. There is some bitter hopping that cleans the palate nicely at the end, which is an impressive feat given how rich and robust everything is. Roasted grain highlights show through every once in a while, too, which also helps to balance the rich and dark flavors. The aftertaste is rich chocolate and molasses, with a touch of smoke and bitter hops. Slick, smooth finish with a rich, robust linger that coats the palate and the mouth. Very strong, but surprisingly drinkable. This beer definitely opens up as it warms. Wow.

Pours a straight black, thick cloud. Head dissipates rapidly.
Lots of sweet roasted malts, cooked sugar, and some dark chocolate.
I didn't pickup much beyond roasted malt and cooked sugar.
You notice the hop bite and chewiness. Coats the mouth but quickly goes thin.
I don't drink many DIS as it takes me forever to drink. This is a great brew that is good to share.

Big thanks to alelover for this treat!
Among the darkest beers I've seen... solid black body showing zero clarity and producing an intimidatingly dark chocolate brown head. Booze legs paint the glass along bits of quick lace.
The oatmeal usage is still quite apparent right out of the gate. Fudge and brownie, oats, cookie dough... the sweetness is as minimal as you could ask for, given these descriptors.
More of the same. Chocolate chip cookies, mild alcohol warmth, thick fudge brownie, nice dry hop bitterness fends off an otherwise unavoidable dessert quality. It's a bit reminiscent of Ten Fidy in a number of ways. I'm really enjoying this one.
Thanks Joel!

22oz bottle. Pour looks like used motor oil with a half inch of dark brown head that dissipates rapidly. Minimal lacing. The aroma is very sweet with lots of oatmeal, vanilla and dark chocolate. Hints of earth and coffee. The taste is sweet dark chocolate with some roasted malts and burnt coffee. Notes of vanilla and sweet oatmeal but this beer is mostly dark, dark chocolate and roasted malts. Sweet but not overly so. Boozey and rich. Silky but heavy mouthfeel. Slow sipper all the way, best paired with a glass of water. Overall, this is a big, rich stout that may be a bit overpriced but is still very good.

Appearance: pitch black body; no head; a little dark tan rim; syrupy legs on the glass with each sip
Aroma: dark roasted notes; dark roast coffee; roasted grains, smoky, dark 70% chocolate like;
Flavors: just like the nose; the flavors come together for a great imperial stout; on their bottle they say ‘will overwhelm, satisfy, and destroy your taste buds…;’ I’ll just say that it satisfies my taste buds.
Mouthfeel: no carbonation; the alcohol spice tingles the tongue but it is not overwhelming; nice alcohol warmth on the finish; bitterness is pleasing and under control with hint of toasted caramel in the background; oily, slightly syrupy but not overpowering, full body
To the Point: a very pleasing Double Imperial Stout; a great sipper

Bomber poured into a snifter glass.
Pours a dark black with a dark chocolate head that is very slight.
Smell is strong with chocolate and a slight coffee smell.
Taste is roasty malt with hits of a bitter chocolate coffee taste. slight alcohol burn on the finish with a slight bitter afterbite.
A very strong stout with some interesting flavors. Another winner from Hoppin Frong
