Ah Yes, My Friday night Must-have. Hands down My favorite place in springfield. I do feel that some Springfield Natives don't quite appreciate the quality of food and drink at this Flourishing Brewpub/Resteraunt. Almost anything you could wish to have is on the menu, from Burgers to steak, Fish(Beer Battered) gourmet pizzas, pastas, salads, and yes amazingly crafted beer. I have always said Springfieldians need to try and open their eyes to the great things this city has to offer. for Example: Every Friday night I see people (at a brewery) choosing a Bud Light over a similar lager beer that was brewed 50 feet from were they sit. To me this is absolute madness, and frequently request that they try something else for a change. If you ever find yourself in springfield, you must try The Springfield Brewing Company.

Nice gentle brewpub in downtown Springfield. Great bar area-clean and bright. Not an overwhelming selection of beers. The usual light, brown, pale ale, etc. A nice dubbel bock on tap though. Pizza was very good. I bought some 750's of their belgium oak aged beer-I'll give that a taste later on. A nice little midwestern safe brewpub. One issue-the bartender did not know that the bottled beer was an ale-he said it was a combination of an ale and lager. Well, I guess there's a reason he's a bartender and not a brewer.

Was in town a found this place on BA. I'm a big supporter of brewpubs, so I thought i'd give it a chance. The bartender was very friendly. i tried the Brew Co. Brown. It creamy and rich like a porter, but didn't have the heavy roasted flavor. nice smooth beer. I ate the chicken marsala, which was fantastic. When i got my tab i very happy to see that the first 3 beers were drank during happy hr at $2.25/each. The other two were only $3.25 at regular price.
this place is a must if you're in Springfield and enjoy a nice brew and some good service.

Went for lunch with five others. Got an impromptu tour of the brewing system after my sister inquired about it for my brother and I. Tried three of their beers (Doppelbock, Hop Lobster, Porter)on tap and enjoyed them all. Also bought the Doppelbock and Marzen in bottles and both (consumed off premises) were very good. Food was good and also fairly reasonable and wait staff was very attentive to our needs and knew about their beer. I will definitely come again when in the area and recommend highly.

The Springfield Brewing Company I think has been a little bit under appreciated. I only have been there once though. The beers there were pretty good. None of them were bad. Granted they were not the greatest in the world but all were note worthy. The service there was exceptional. Everyone in there had a smile on there face. I loved the atmosphere. It was definitely Midwestern and classy. Our table upstairs was not the most comfortable and sat pretty high. There were also plenty of things to look at and do as you waited. The food was good. My friend and I enjoyed it. The servings sizes were good as well. Parking was kind of a pain.

This place is either great or just average depending on your beer karma score. If your really into beer, you'll find it average. If your a novice you'll be impressed. Because they brew their own, tap selection is limited to six though the cask conditioned ones are rarely available. They make a really good pale ale but the rest of the beers are just average (o.k. some of the seasonals can be pretty good). Food and service are always hit and miss. For example two weeks ago I had a Grilled Chicken Salad and they forgot to mix in the dressing. Today, they had just the right amount of dressing in the same salad. If you want to make sure you have a good meal the Bayou Chicken is the safest bet.
Place is always busy on weekends as the upstairs bar has billiards and video games. Sunday nights have a jazz musician. While decent overall, go around the corner to Patton Alley Pub for a better beer experience.

man i wish this place was in my home town. the un-filtered wheat and their pale ale i had were both great. the wings rocked. their fish and chips destroys long john silver's. their baked salmon had a light crispy sweet glaze that makes you want the whole fish. my son had the pizza and seemed to love. everyone that i was in attendance with seemed to enjoy and have a good time. seems to me this place could charge quite a bit more if they were in a more metropolitan environment, but that makes it a really great deal.

State of the art brewery showplace by Meuller - makers of SS brewing hardware and equipment. Staff most knowledgable and most important they make some seriously good beer. Food was well prepaired and served. A first class brew-pub although under separate management they work very close. Downtown Springfield has nice parking nearby when on street parking fills up. Plan on taking some beer home all the beers on tap are available in bottles and Kegs or minikegs.
A very well constructed website is up to date and will give you a great ideal of their offerings.

Mueller's show room for their brewing equipment. State of the art and then some as far as the brewery, which is easily viewable from the downstairs bar and eating sections. Nice bar with a crazy huge stainless steel rack above it that is like a work of art. Sometimes I'll just marvel at it.
Quality of food is usually pretty high, although I remember one visit where a friend ordered nachos that took about half an hour to get because the cook burned them like three times. That's my only bad experience out of numerous occasions. I recommend the macaroni and cheese - seriously.
Nice atmosphere, (typical old brick building turned into a brew pub), with good live music, lots of pool tables, and a cigar room. Saturday nights at dinner time a really hot jazz group plays upstairs.
I've been a fan of their pale ale for a while, and although I'll try other beers for sure, the pale is the one I'll almost always drink. That is unless they have the porter on tap. The porter is righteous. They did an IPA around last Christmas that was good, and do a nice dopplebock. Most of the others are kind of lackluster for this kid. They need to brew the barley wine they did in 2002 all the damn time!

First off, I am in a homebrew club and one of our members found this place and set up a tour with the head brewer Ashton Lewis. We went there and all I can say is Damn. This place is state of the art, however it is Mueller's showcase brewery. Mueller makes brewing equipment and they use this brewery as thier showroom floor, and it shows. Their beers are wonderful, and the food that I got the second time I was there was amazing. The first time I was there I was drunk, and wasn't able to enjoy the food. Anyway, the pale ale and all the beers in between all they way up to their anniversiay ale, (barley wine), was the best I have had at a brewpub. Their beers are also available for sale in six packs that you can buy and carry out from the brewpub, or you can get them at the local beer stores. I am very happy that I have been introduced to this place, seeing that now everytime I get up to Bass Pro Shops I know where I can go get some good food and great beer.
