A: Pours a dark copper color with a small head that fades quickly to bits of lacing.

S: Very mild aroma. Just a trace of grain and that's about it.

T: Taste is quite bland with just a bit of hops crispness, some grain and a bit of malt sweetness in the background. No real bitterness and a clean finish.

F: Very light body, very bland.

O: A non discript beer by an unknown brewer. Nothing to see here.

This pours a pale gold colour. Clear. Disappointing head though.

Some sweet floral notes on the nose.

Some pleasant sweetness grasiness. Not a lot else going on.

Quite a high level of carbonation.

Ok I suppose but it's not gonna change my world.

Obvously an adjunct lager, so I will review it as such.

Appearance - 4.0
Not an English Bitter! A finger of bubbly white head sits atop a pale gold body with lively carbonation, good head retention.

Smell - 2.5
Sweet grains, grassy hops, quite basic.

Taste - 2.0
Pretty basic macro lager, nothing special, but not offensive either. Quite crisp, tastes of grain, grassy and steely hops, moderately bitter and quite astringent in its finish.

Mouthfeel - 3.0
Moderate carbonation is just about spot on for the style, but could stand to be finer.

Drinkability - 3.0
A good lawnmower beer with more flavour than some, but definitely not a beer for enthusiasts.

OVERALL - 2.7
Whoever added this beer needs to go out and drink a real English bitter, because this isn't one. It also is a small notch below the standard James Boag products, although better than many from the mainland.

A; Yellow golden, clear with low to average carbonation...2 finger white head quite good head retention, with nice lacing.
S: Eggy suplhur was the most pronounced, touch of malt sweetness, & some hay notes....watery
T: A little sweeter Aussie beer (not true to its English Bitter Style though), just another aussie lager. Only a touch bitter but doesn't linger, had that classic Aussie Lager dank metallic chemical aftertaste albeit nowhere near as strong as the CUB beers. I don't know why the big boys think this is a good thing to have in our beers (maybe its the differentiating aspect).
As it warmed a little it released more honey sweetness
M: initally creamy, but then finishes a little light & watery & leaves the palate bored. Considering the carbs looked a little dead, this had heaps on the tongue
D: I am not sure about this...its very innofensive, I have heard people say they dont want this cos they hate Bitters (they haven't tried this of course)...this really ain't got any to worry about.
This was a lot 'kinder' than I thought it would be, quite smooth, but not very flavoursome - good thirst quencher when u want to slam it down hard.
More bitey hops would have helped (florals as well cos it was bland in smell too).
Would I want another one? Probably not, but I;d pick this over a VB, Melb or even a crowny.
JUST TOO BLAND Sadly cos this seems to be pointing in the right direction

This is a beer that I had been avoiding.... not sure why, maybe due to its prominent display in LiquorLand, which appeals to me not.

a) Dark yellow, golden.... lots of bubbles. White frothy head, almost souffle.... leaves a heavy lace

s) Notes of PoR & sulfur... not too dissimilar to Crown. Improves as it warms, picking up some grain hints.

f) Better than Crown....a slightly sweet, nutty malt profile. PoR noticable again, and the bitterness is somewhat weird.... a late, side/rear tongue sensation that makes it seem more like an afterthought in the brewing process...

m) Medium body, full mouth. More body than other macros e.g. New/VB.

d) Surprisingly drinkable. More so than VB, Crown, New etc.

Pours a light golden color with a small amount of white creamy head that fades away leaving a thin layer to coat the glass on the way down. Smells very faintly of yeast, and not much else. Tastes very clean, hardly any flavor there at all. There's some bitterness, but it doesn't really have much flavor to it. The mouthfeel is pretty thin and watery, a little fizzy. Overall, it's drinkable, only because there's no flavor to object to. Standard aussie macro stuff.

Pretty pale yellow. It actually poured a head and left some very respectable lacing! The head retention was as good as a bitter gets really. Some inconsistent carbonation, which was a bit weird.

Smell was pretty bland in terms of flavour on the palate, with some sweetness in it, quite malty smell for a bitter. Which lasted through the after taste. The after taste was the bit I enjoyed the most with malts on the middle and bitterness on the edges of the palate. Very high carbonation for an English bitter. Definite floral hops there, the malt and hop balance was fine I would say. Maybe with some better quality hops it wouldn’t be that bad at all. It could really afford more hops or less malt. It strikes me as a beer which could be good but has to stay cheep and sacrifice complexity. That’s ok if that’s what the brewer wants and for the price its damn fine.

I hate to consider price but this beer is very cheep and is better than VB so it’s a decent effort, although not really exciting either. Good beer to drink when you have no money.

Clear light gold with a loosely bubbled head and minimal bead.
The smell is diappointingly bland watery and metallic,
The taste has a little more character than would be suggested by the smell. There is a reasonable amount of maltiness that blends into a smooth and sweetish finish, all of which is superimposed on a medium bitter background.
This beer has the beginnings of complexity
It is above a lot of macros , because it has some balance and character albeit restrained . It is still a pretty plain and uninspiring drop but in the wine vernacular it is a drinkable quaffer.

Tasman bitter availiable at liquorland outlets is coles answer to VB.

Pours a light amber with a thick head. Skunks a little.
Tastes pretty much the same just has a crisper hop finish. Other than that theres not much difference.

Not a bad cheap beer to drink on a hot day with mates.
