This beer is a red-tinted brown with a creamy tan head that I wait to see fall; it never does. It just crowns this beer like a sexy pillow and refuses to move. When the beer recedes, The head remains, clinging stubbornly as it goes.
This beer, as advertised, does offer something reminiscent of mutigrain breads. There's a touch of nut with a biscuity malt, a touch of barley, some bittersweet baking chocolate, a bit of roast, and just a touch of sweetness. In the flavor, the sweetness backs off a little and what's showcased predominantly is the roasty element. There is some earthiness and, in the flavor, some leafy dryness pulls into a drier finish.
This beer is a good balance of crisp and smooth in a somewhat light body. Carbonation is a little prickly starting off, then tones itself down somewhat.
