Only pop in for an occasional written review these days and this beer deserves one. I picked up 5 bottles and this is my last one.
The head is white and a bit soapy/frothy. Good lace sticks to the glass. Beer is a bright gold with a touch of brass in it.
Aroma is borderline perfection. So bright and fresh it hurts. Huge juicy citrus notes with a touch of green grass. A tropical note or two as well.
Tropical blast more apparent in the flavor vs. aroma. Again a blast of fresh citrus. Lots of tangerine and oily citrus from the peel. Just fantastic. Reminds me a touch of the pineapple Lifesavers.. (positive reference) Light cracker malt just to provide some balance, but this is about the fresh hops.
Light, refreshing and fresh body. Vibrant.
Great concept, great beer. Love it.

Enjoy by 5-17-13. Poured from 22oz bottle into captain Lawrence tulip. Pours a slightly reddish golden with a finger of white head. Really nice piney and fruity hop aromas with some great malty balance. Taste is crisp piney and citrus hops with a nice malt backbone to even things out...its smooth and easy especially for the abv. Really great DIPA....cant wait for the next edition!

Hazy and golden in color. Minimal head with a precise pour from a bottle into a snifter glass.
Smell is slightly bitter, but very fruity. Most prominent notes are orange peel, grapefruit. Whatever hops they use, I'm impressed.
Taste is velvety, floral, fruity, and bitter. It showcases a flavor profile that only a young Imperial can deliver. Fruitier than Heady Topper, Milder than Double Jack, smoother than anything from Lagunitas (and I'm a way bigger fan of Lagunitas than Stone, usually).
You'll appreciate the mouthfeel. It sticks around and makes you want the experience to last longer. Finish is long and memorable.
Overall, it's a great beer, but a bit pricier than several competitors that offer similar young double IPAs for half the cost. That being said, if it's the only beer I'm drinking that evening, it's a solid choice. It doesn't leave me wishing I ordered something else.

Poured from 22 ounce bomber into a perfect pint glass.
Pours light to darker golden bronze. Gets hazy towards the top. Nice fluff of white foam sits a top. Strong pine nose but fades out quickly. Real firm hop bitter blasts out and holds throughout. Really fresh tasting, but nothing mellow about it.

A - Nice cloudy, light golden. Good head.
S - One of the real strengths of this beer. Citrusy, herbal, some spice but not overly.
T - Again, citrusy and lemony flavors, medium hop flavors, yet very sessionable for the abv. Solid taste.
M - Smooth, not overly carbonated.
O - A very solid IPA. It's no wonder fans of this style seek this out. With food, I found it going down very quickly, despite the high alcohol.
