Notes:
And as Stone Ruination IPA turns 10, we thought we’d make ourselves a nice little birthday present to celebrate. But what kind of selfish jerks would we be if we didn’t share?! Behold, the Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA. (Clever name, eh? That’s why us folks in the Marketing Dept. get the big bucks!) It’s an amped-up version of Stone Ruination IPA, with a bit more malt to bring the abv up from 7.7% to 10.8%, and a very heavy dose of hops. “Classic” Ruination uses 2.5 pounds of hops per barrel–which is more than double the amount we use in any other of our core beers–but for Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA, we went double again, using an impressive 5 pounds of hops per barrel, including about a pound each of Citra and Centennial in the dry hop. (Hell. Yes.)

On tap at Bier Baron poured in a 10 oz. goblet.
Pours a crystal clear dark golden color. Wispy white head tops the beer and leaves a sticky lacing on the glass.
Strong hop aroma of blunt citrus. Grapefruit rind and pith, and blood orange are in the foreground with a touch of weed lurking in the background. A slight sweetness from the malt is detectable as well.
The taste is big and powerful with hops! Major pithy citrus rind. Somewhat one dimensional in its powerful grapefruit character. Sticky resiny hops power this beer.
Stone beers always have a refined full mouthfee, even the low ABV beers and this one is no exception. Coating is a good word to describe it. Bitterness on the back end is huge.
Overall an awesome DIPA done in typical Stone flashiness.

Well Stone, you have done it again. I thought you peaked with Enjoy By but I guess I was wrong. This beer is absolutely amazing. It's a Kung Fu kick to the palate. So much hop goodness and all balanced out by enough sweet malt to keep you coming back for more. If you are a fan of IPA's or just want to drink one of the best beers in the world, do yourself a favor and seek this out. You will not regret it. The best part is you will be drunk off of one bottle!

Released earlier today.
A: Dark copper with a white head. Retention is good with some lacing.
S: A small bit of malt sweetness peeks out behind the spicy pinecone, and pineapple hops. Grapefruit and tangerines. Light on the flowery hops and peach.
T: Tangerines, peaches, pine needles, and a tiny bit of alcohol. Pine, some bitter/sweet grain, and grapefruit in the aftertaste. Big and in your face.
M:Full bodied and coats the mouth, yet quickly dries. Medium-full carbonation.
O: Nice big hopbomb.
