Notes:
And as Stone Ruination IPA turns 10, we thought we’d make ourselves a nice little birthday present to celebrate. But what kind of selfish jerks would we be if we didn’t share?! Behold, the Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA. (Clever name, eh? That’s why us folks in the Marketing Dept. get the big bucks!) It’s an amped-up version of Stone Ruination IPA, with a bit more malt to bring the abv up from 7.7% to 10.8%, and a very heavy dose of hops. “Classic” Ruination uses 2.5 pounds of hops per barrel–which is more than double the amount we use in any other of our core beers–but for Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA, we went double again, using an impressive 5 pounds of hops per barrel, including about a pound each of Citra and Centennial in the dry hop. (Hell. Yes.)

Poured into Stone IRS glass.
A 1.5 finger fuzzy off white head forms and turns quite foamy. The body is a hazy orange with excellent carbonation. Lacing is left after the head goes down and leaves rocky bubbles of foam above the body. Looks very nice.
S Big ole tropical fruits jump out at you. Grapefruit, orange, pineapple and mango take charge along with what smells to be a bitter citrus.
T Excellent citrusy and piney bitterness upfront that carries all the way to the finish. Lots of fruit the same as the nose comes out that's somewhat sweet but mainly bitter. The finish is piney, bitter and dry, this stuff is excellent. West Coast hops bring the nice fruity character along with a solid palate wrecking bitterness. Citra bomb, best of both worlds. So close to a 5
M Medium feel that's somewhat sticky and syrupy. There's a medium carbonation made up of smaller carbo bubbles that makes for an almost creamy sip. Feels good but a toned down sticky/syrup feel would definitely benefit the beer
O This is a great anniversary beer. Definitely a step up from Ruination that doesn't deviate from the original beer. Make this every year..
