Notes:
And as Stone Ruination IPA turns 10, we thought we’d make ourselves a nice little birthday present to celebrate. But what kind of selfish jerks would we be if we didn’t share?! Behold, the Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA. (Clever name, eh? That’s why us folks in the Marketing Dept. get the big bucks!) It’s an amped-up version of Stone Ruination IPA, with a bit more malt to bring the abv up from 7.7% to 10.8%, and a very heavy dose of hops. “Classic” Ruination uses 2.5 pounds of hops per barrel–which is more than double the amount we use in any other of our core beers–but for Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA, we went double again, using an impressive 5 pounds of hops per barrel, including about a pound each of Citra and Centennial in the dry hop. (Hell. Yes.)

since Ruination is my all time favorite ipa, when i found out stone had made this i HAD to get it (i feel the same way about their 2 new smoked porters, even thoe now i see they are not distributing to MN! ?) this was very very delish if you c it buy it! i can say thoe that it is defiantly more bitter and hoppy than the original which is great, it hits the mark 4 what it is. with that being said i feel that the "perfect balance" of ruination is a little lacking in this offering.
very similar to ruination in looks, smell and taste and still a well balanced beer. in fact for the 10.4% content it has a great feel and taste with little booziness if at all. i have a few bottles of this and i wonder how its going to age in perhaps 2 or 3 months from now. i feel perhaps it has just a wee bit too much edge to it and look forward to it mellowing a bit from that fresh hops taste!

Well Stone, you have done it again. I thought you peaked with Enjoy By but I guess I was wrong. This beer is absolutely amazing. It's a Kung Fu kick to the palate. So much hop goodness and all balanced out by enough sweet malt to keep you coming back for more. If you are a fan of aggressively hoped DIPA's or just want to drink one of the best beers in the world, do yourself a favor and seek this out. You will not regret it. The best part is you will be drunk off of one bottle!
