12 oz bottle pours a lightly hazed crimson color with a massive cap of tan head. Awesome retention and lacing. Good looking brew here.
Nose is floral hops with a definite sugary sweetness. Im surprised the nose really is not all that potent, pretty tame actually, even when warmed up a bit.
Taste throws alot of hop flavor around, mostly herbal/floral with a pretty lame malt backbone. Flabby with a touch of sweetness and burnt toast with very little depth or flavor. If this was in a sixer for $10 I probably wouldnt buy it again, let alone $5 for a single 12 oz. Its more of an IPA than a Brown Ale, and there's just not really anything that stands out about the beer. I would never have guessed it was brewed with brown sugar or molasses if it wasnt on the label. I thought for sure a BR and Stone collab on a brown ale would be fantastic as I love the BR Tribute Brown. Oh well, it was worth a shot.
