Poured from 12 oz bottle into tulip glass.

Pours a dark brown color with roughly a finger sized head that is off white. Lots of little hop particles floating around. Good sticky lacing.

Obviously a very hoppy beer. Has a little bit of everything. Citrus, floral, pine. Those definitely dominate the aroma, but you can tell there is a solid malt backbone to it too.

Really surprised that this is more like a regular ipa than a black ipa. There is definitely enough malt behind the hops to balance well, but its not roasty and dry like most of the black ipas I've had. Really enjoyable though. All types of flavors from the hops, just like it seemed from the aroma. Citrus, floral, and piney hops, all pretty well balanced.

Good medium body and lower carbonation. Less body than I would have thought.

A good beer overall. Not exactly what I expected. The malt didn't play as key of a role as I figured it would, but it let the hops shine very well. I would have it again, but there's other stuff I'd rather grab.
