Poured from a bottle into a snifter
A- pours an extremely cloudy orange, very small white head thats almost nonexistant, decent lacing, brighter than im used to seeing in a DIPA
S- not an extremely strong nose but you can still pick up on the elements, citrus hops with a strong presence of grapefruit, slightly sweet, there are slight herbal notes that come to the surface, okay nose
T- bitter citrus, grapefruit rind, sweet, im picking up slightly on the tea but not getting a lot of it, seems like it was overpowered by the hops here, you get slightly herbal notes in the finish, taste like a DIPA to me, not too much on the tea side
M- medium/heavy body, good balance of carbonation, the beer really attacks the palate, dry and bitter finish, like a nice DIPA should be
O- it would be a great beer if they were going for a double IPA, but i really felt like the tea got lost here, it might have worked better in a lower ABV with less intense hops? Not bad but not something i'd go running to try again

2011 Collaboration
A: Pours a hazy to cloudy golden peach in color with some very light amounts of visible carbonation and some orange and golden yellow highlights. There are significant amounts of white particles in suspension. The beer has a finger tall off-white head that redues to a medium sized patch of very thin film covering the surface of the beer with a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Light to moderate aromas of citrus/orange hops along with some lighter notes of green tea.
T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of pale malts with a light amount of wheat. There are light to moderate flavor of citrus/orange hops and some light notes of green tea. Light to moderate amounts of bitterness which lingers for quite a while.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth and slightly crisp with moderate amounts of dryness in the finish.
O: This beer has really held up surprisingly well considering the style - the alcohol is well hidden and the hop flavors has not really faded much over time. I liked this better than a lot of the Stone beer as this has a slightly different hop profile.
