Tap at alewife in Baltimore.
Big creamy head fades slowly with lacing, hazy dark honey colored.
Nose fresh slightly resinous hops, little spicy and floral, grassy, but of sweet candy toasty reddish malts, fruity hops.
Taste starts with fresh hops but spicy earthy very resinous hop, musty, very hops, light grapefruit and bit of citrus and blood orange, Sweet candied orange peel hop character as well, light zest, fairly bitter but not as much as I expected. sweet malty base. Finish is sticky sweet, very bitter and spicy, lingering musty resin and light orange peel.
Mouth is med to fuller bod, decent carb hint of warming booze.
Overall interesting but I built it up too much hype for this and it was OK, decent but not great. Felt like a double dry hopped Arrogant Bastard should have been amazing.

Very dark, deep ruby coloring this ale poured a nice creamy one finger head that never went away. Very pretty in the snifter, this is a good looking ale.
The aroma is more hoppy than expected. I did get a bit of malty sweetness, but more of the woodsy pine notes from the hops. Trust me that's not bad as these piney notes are quite floral and nicely fragrant.
The taste is of a quality IPA, piney and floral, but it's disarmed by a a sweet malt backing that blends very well together. The tastes are strong and noticeable, so there's plenty to be arrogant about.

The ever-arrogant taste is alive and well in Stone's recent double dry hopped Arrogant Bastard Ale! Where certain malt tastes are mellowed, other more hoppier tastes are magnified for a taste that tilts boldly to the IPA-ish kinda world.
Its rich garnet pour is highlighted by ruby and chestnut backlight. Mild haze diffuses the light and illuminates brilliantly. A tough persistent head tops the beer like meringue on a key lime pie, but with darker underpinnings. Strong lacing leaves behind broken rings of foam with every sip taken from the glass. It's a magnificent looking ale!
In keeping with the standard Arrogant beer, aromas of strong toffee and toasted malts are met with equil intesity from pine and citrus hops. Wood, mint, grass, and stem captivate the nose with a ton of ultra earth scents. Then a flood of bread, toffee, and toast sweetness rise to balance the scent to perfection- allowing the earth and citrus hops to shine slightly above.
Flavors ensue with the bready richness of barley, molassess, buckwheat, and dry toast that add to an already rich and bready upstart. Then the middle palate of hops offer balance unlike any beer I've tasted- the pith of grapefruit, orange zest, pine needles, and stem don't only balance the malt sweetness but pull ahead in its display of strength. Finishing malty-dry on the palate, the beer is obsurdly brash and wonderfully so.
Medium-rich in texture, the strong dextrin quality and the inherent dissolved carbonation provvides the palate with an effortless hearty creaminess that endures the session, releasing its body sip after sip until the beer is all gone. In its wake, a semi-dry finish of alcohol, toast, and resin lingers.
Somehow, this version of Arrogant Bastard gives the taste buds a more mature taste that deviates from its normal fresh choice, but offers a glimpse into a woody, minty, and bark-ish quality that I wouldn't have known to exist in the beer. Though understandably great, the trated offs make it only equally appreciable as the regular Arrogant Bastard Ale.

Served from tap into a shaker. Poured a deep red-orange with a one finger light tan head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained excellent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, citrus, earth, citrus hop, spices, spicy hop, and wood. The flavor was of sweet malt, wood, spice, spicy hop, earth, and earth hop. It had a light feel on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a good brew. This is a version that I thought I would never get the chance to see! But low and behold it showed up at one of my local bars. Happy day for me! The double dry hopping on this one really added quite a bit of nice flavor and aroma aspects here. The hops were really dominate and made it taste more like a DIPA. If I am honest I actually enjoyed more than a few pints of this. I suggest that if you get the same opportunity to do so, that you do it without hesitation.

On tap at Tony's Darts Away in Burbank, CA.
Pours a clear dark copper with a foamy orange-khaki head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus zest, and some herbal hop aromas. Taste is much the same with a slight onion-like flavor on the finish. There is a medium hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty but pretty bitter.

On tap at The Playground in Santa Ana, CA (shout out to tha homies).
This be my first review, and Raul doesn't really follow protocol, so he gonna do it like he do.
Not big n heavy like you would expect from tha bad boi dat iz ARROGANT BASTARD. Crazy like; very smooth n almost subtle. All of a sudden, homeboi could have sworn he was sippin' on a light brown IPA. But nah, it wuzn't that.
It was aite. I prefer the robust nature of regular Bastard, but I definitely think ya'll should give it a peep.
