A: The beer is slightly hazy amber in color and has a light amount of carbonation with lots of particles visible floating in suspension. It poured with a finger high beige head that quickly died down and gradually faded away, leaving rings of bubbles down the sides of the glass.
S: There are light to moderate aromas of citrus hops in the nose (smells of grapefruit stand out in particular) along with some hints of pine resin hops.
T: The taste is very similar to the smell and has a mild amount of bitterness; there are some hints of caramel malts in the initial taste.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a low to moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The beer is very easy to drink and is quite sessionable given its low alcohol content.

Ounce again the people at Stone hit it out of the park with this amazing Ale, it has nice heavy malt aroma, a coopery amber taste that sits on the tongue and an aftertaste that is a bit bitter but in a good way.

This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a nice hazy amber/red colored body. A one finger white foamy head dissipated within about a minute leaving some light ringy lacing stringing itself around the glass. The smell had a fairly big dried out citrus rolling all around in a slight peppery spice. The taste copied the smell and added a quick dry peppery spiced aftertaste leading to a dry finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. I’d say it was appropriately styled. Overall, I’d say it was a good Amber/Red.

2009 backlog. 12 oz bottle. This is an amber? It tastes like no other amber I’ve ever had. That’s a compliment. When I first heard that Stone created an amber ale, I couldn’t believe it. It didn’t seem like something this hop-obsessed brewery would do. Then I tasted it. It has Stone written all over it. Most ambers are too malty for my taste. This beer is balanced nicely with plenty of hops. Smells of sweet malt, a little musty. Pours brownish amber, small head, good lacing. Tastes of raisins. The label says it all: there’s more character in this 4.4% alcohol beer than any other beer I can think of in this range. Well done, Stone.

After all those years of ridicule for fizzy yellow light beers, this is basically Stone's foray into the very territory they marketed themselves against or raged against the machine if you will. Pours in between a dark gold and light copper color, 3/4" white head. Aroma was the least hoppy Stone beer ever.
Taste was better, even though light, it manages to be flavorful. Its a very drinkable beer with pale honey malt and some c hops. Still actually comes in with some red vienna like sweetness malt wise. Its not a bad thing to have around for a guest.

Tried in a stone 12-pack. A very underrated beer in my opinion. A nice light counterpoint to Stone's typically uncompromisingly hoppy offerings, and one that takes a lighter tack without compromising on the nuance of its flavor profile.
