Warm and tangy red brew. Quite handsome dark coppery color in the snifter. Adequate foam and plenty of spritz on the tongue.
Remarkable spicy hop flavor permeates the mouth. Some roasted malt with resiny hop notes. The perfumey taste makes me think of rye. Pleasant bitterness for the finish. Maybe the Stone heavy-handed hop treatment is just what this benighted category needed. Certainly a big step up for the Irish style.
Excellent quaff and loads of flavor for a lower-alcohol brew. On tap at the Kettner Street Company Store.
