Hopman's has been my local homebrew supply for well over 2 years now. I live only 10 minutes away. The staff is always very helpful, and also has good advice on brewing techniques if there is something I am unsure about. The store itself is extremely well organized and I have never had a problem finding any ingredient or spice that I have needed for my beers. They always have a wide variety of specialty grains on hand, and one of the best selections of hops I have seen in any store. I can always count on being able to purchase many of the newest high alpha hops that are in such high demand these days. They also routinely get brand new breeds in every so often, and will let everyone know by email when new products arrive. Great quality on all ingredients and yeast. The yeast vials I buy are nearly always under a month from the date of packaging for White Labs. I am also a member of the homebrew club which meets at the store every month. It is always great to be able to share beer and discuss brewing with other fellow homebrewers. Overall this will be my go to homebrew supply for as long as I am in the area.

Hopman's has a complete monopoly on homebrewing supplies within a 10+ mile radius of Waterford. They would probably do decent business even if the place was a dump.

Thankfully the exact opposite is true. It's probably the most well put together supply stores I've seen. Everything is extremely clean and organized in a nice, bright well thought out space. I've been to some of these shops that feel like dungeons.

The service is the highlight here. The owner, or the Hopman, as I refer to him is extremely knowledgeable and more than happy to answer any questions you may have. If you can brew it at home he knows how, does it himself and well give you as many pointers as you need. As a beginner I've called the store while brewing to get a question answered and they are always happy to help. I would give them a 6 for service if I could.

The selection is great. Several different hop varietals available. A whole cooler full of different yeast strains. A wall of different whole malts. Plenty of kits for the newbie brewers. Left .5 off because I'm sure they are missing something an advanced brewer may be looking for. They also have quite a wide range of wine making supplies and even mead making kits that are very reasonably priced.

Overall a great store. If you put a premium on service you've found your homebrew shop right here.

Hopman's has a nice homebrew selection with grains, yeasts, hops and brewers best kits nicely displayed in a clean setting.

The prices are fair and the service is top rate. Beyond the ingredients they also have many books, a large selection of bottles and a wide variety of homebrew equipment. Kegging supplies can also be found at Hopmans.

I would recommend any homebrewer stopping buy even if it's to just browse and chat with the knowledgeable staff.

The also carry a wide selection of wine making equipment and supplies.

I recieved a beginning brewing kit as a gift, purchased through the mail. The instructions were very vague and some crucial equipment was not included. I went to Mr. Hopman's store and asked his advice. He was extremely helpful and knowledgable. He walked me through the entire process. He sold me the extra equipment I needed at a reasonable price and even offered to trade in some of the stuff I got in the kit for some that would work better. As a result, I was able to brew my first successful batch! I definitely recommend this store. His customer service is excellent and his prices are reasonable.

I just walked into this place today. It was more than I expected. First thing I noticed was that it was clean and organized. So many homebrew shops have dated items or is very dusty or has scattered merchandise. This place had some unexpected items such as herbs, grain, and a wide selection of yeast. I really didn't expect much at the location but I think it is a very good place. Nothing else is in the area and so a vacancy has been filled. The owner was very friendly and made suggestions but was not pushy. I noticed the customer ahead of me got a discount for being in a local club. I really hope this place sticks around.

Hopman's is new to the Waterford area and a sorely needed addition for homebrewers. It is located on Walton just east of Dixie Hwy. I've been in there a couple of times already to purchase some malt and yeast for some brews I'm making. They have very good prices on malt, star san, yeast and bottles (what I've bought so far). They carry all the standard homebrewing supplies. As their name implies, they also offer wine kits and supplies for making wine. The owner is very friendly and knowledgable.

They are open Thurs - Sun. There is no website yet, but I'm told it's in progress.
