The Ann Arbor Scrabble Club meets here (Arbor Brewing Company will henceforth be referred to as ABC) weekly, during happy hour no less, so I've spent many hours in this fine establishment.
They are very gracious hosts -- service is attentive but not hovering, nice and professional. They put up with eccentric Scrabble players, so they will probably not mind you.
There are usually a half-dozen ABC-brewed session beers on tap, some of which rotate, along with a small selection of draft high-gravity ABC beers. Quality is fine, they are tasty and you know what you'll get, never anything bad and nothing really surprising or truly exceptional, at least among the session beers. The Sacred Cow IPA is my go-to but I try to mix it up. There are also bottles from around the country and the world, and that selection is pretty good, but if you're here, don't order beer made somewhere else [note: I know the brewery actually does its production in nearby Ypsilanti].
Food is good, menu could be bigger but there are delicious monthly dishes that use local ingredients and always a vegetarian option. For bar food, the garlic fries can't be beat.
Come during happy hour (4-7? Definitely ends at 7) and all beers under 8% abv are $3 for a 20 oz. pour.

not sure i've ever had their beer but i recognize them from the great taste of the midwest. nice big interior, nice woody interior with dark earthy tones.
pretty decent array of taps - a good cask ipa, a solid double ipa, a tasty brown, a good esb, and some other stuff of lesser interest. there was even a vintage bottle list that was a tad pricey and not really fitting with our evening plans.
everything i sampled was good - the ipa's were quite good. i saw a sour brown at a bottle shop - its pretty clear this spot is a decent local brewpub. they were out of a handful of things, but nothing even remotely interesting - so that is probably telling of the clientele but it was no issue to me
the menu was pretty pedestrian - burgers seemed like the best bet (local, grassfed, etc) and they come with 3 toppings. taste wasnt anything overly special
worth a stop if you're stuck in this hole

My wife and I stopped in for lunch on a recent visit to Ann Arbor. We sat at the bar and were greeted promptly by the young lady tending bar.
We both started with a "Sacred Cow" IPA which was on cask. It was a very solid IPA.
The food was good, nothing exceptional, but good bar food.
I was pleased to see that they served 1/2 pints which allowed us to sample more brews. Being from Ohio we don't usually have that option.
Their stout and porter were both light in body but great on taste.
They also had a very good ESB, "Huxell Best Bitter" which had an American twist with a very nice hop bite.
We enjoyed our visit here, so much so that we came back later in the evening for another round.
I loved the atmosphere and enjoyed some great conversation at the bar.
If we lived in the area we would definitely be regulars at Arbor.

Arbor brewing company is a solid option when I am in search of craft beer and a night out. In terms of their beer selection, it depends on when you go, with selection ranging from a fairly standard line-up of year round beers to the occasional home run, their larry hoppe double IPA was outstanding. Food selection is pretty limited and almost entirely southwest or mexican. I have had some decent tasting food there, but would prefer a larger menu. Staff always seem nice, and the people behind the bar actually know what they are talking about, which is a refreshing change from a lot of beer establishments.

There was no wait and I was promptly served on a Sunday night. If you do not want to pay for parking, you will have to walk a couple of blocks to get here. The food is reasonably priced, though it is more expensive than you would expect for the variety of pub grub that they offer. The food is definitely worth a try, and I really liked the cajun fries. The atmosphere is slightly dim and inviting with a clean non-smoking 180 degree bar. The brewery is visible from most places in the pub.
They have about 6 or 7 beers on tap that are brewed in-house, and many craft brews are also available (in bottle). Unfortunately, four in-house beers were unavailable when I went. I had a pint of the Sweet Stout, and it was fantastic. Large (20oz pints) are $5 and small (12oz?) are $3 for the house brews. 20oz pints are $3 during happy hour. I would definitely come here again.

Arbor Brewing Company, like Grizzly Peak and others, is a staple of the complex, cultured, upper-middle-class though somewhat hippie city that is Ann Arbor (I suppose, which comes along with it, more discerning beer palates).
The place is dimly lit but reflects the street outside well. I can't say much that's good about the service... we had to call the server over to tell them that we were actually there. All our drinks and food were paid for at the bar. So really, service was pretty much nonexistent. However, Arbor Brewing does have some pretty good food and decent brews for what it's worth. Lots of Belgian-inspired brews, and usually they get the style down pretty well. Food is well-made pub grub with some variety thrown in. A decent, hearty meal and worth checking out if you're in Ann Arbor.

the ABC is a great atmosphere. nice copper bar and attractive place to hang out.
the staff is cool and for the most part on the ball with their job. i have had a couple instances of what might be perceived as incompetence, but nothing to get in a twist. very friendly and helpful.
quality of beer is low, with a healthy cross-section of choices. i always hesitate in ordering which beer, because they are usually out of one to three, which is a disappointment. also, their happy hour only applies to the beers that are lower in gravity, and flavor. their "strong ales" are delicious, but only come int he smaller size, and their is a limit of three (i guess they don't want to over-serve). the beer is delicious, but a little lack-luster. their Imperial IPA... Larry Hoppe is flavorful and delicious, but really it is just an IPA, nothing imperial about it. maybe the brewers are from Utah. that is perhaps a good description, a great place with lots of sights and sounds, but the beer has a gravity limit.
the food is very good. soups made fresh daily, quality pizzas, good veggie options too. the menu was recently changed, and i like the old one more, but the plus is now that they have an incredibly strong movement for fresh local products, which i support.
the prices are good, affordable.
In Conclusion: great place, check it out... you'll go back.

Visited on 11/28/08 with BAs brewslut, Deuane and SierraGS.
Arbor boasts a spacious, angular floor plan with a nice-sized bar as well as plenty of tables and booths. The brewpub is decorated with hardwood floors, a tin ceiling and brick walls with lots of brewerania. You can also view the brew tanks from just about anywhere inside.
Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and laid back. We were seated promptly and there were no problems with our order. Our food arrived relatively quickly.
Their selection included six regular taps and two cask, as well as a handful of specialty Belgian brews. During our visit, they were offering a mild, blonde, pils, IPA, porter and a stout, as well as the aforementioned Belgians. Overall, they had a solid lineup with something for everyone.
The quality of the beers ranged from average to very good, with big thumbs up to their cask porter, which was a hit at our table. Nothing really blew my mind, but everything I sampled was solid.
As for the food, I ordered a cajun chicken burrito with black beans, cilantro, sour cream, rice and salsa with a side of rice and beans. I found my selection to be extremely fresh and flavorful. Overall, food and drink prices were very reasonable.
Ann Arbor is a really nice town, and I will certainly visit again next time I visit the area. I also picked up an Arbor Brewing long sleeve T-shirt with one of my favorite Frank Zappa quotes on the back. Nice find!

Visited for lunch on Black Friday. Parked in the city garage about one block away.
Nice "typical" brew pub atmosphere with exposed brick walls, wood and a lovely copper topped bar.
Our server was friendly, pleasant and more than adequate with refilling drinks and getting our food to us in a timely manner.
An impressive selection of 9 taps and 2 cask offerings (IPA and Porter).
Food was solid with a very nice spicy tomato soup enjoyed by all. I got fish and chips and C was pleased with a vegetarian wrap. Menu had a good mix of items to include a fair number of vege items.
Overall a solid establishment. Would have no issue returning for another visit. Quality brews, good food and a pleasant atmosphere...about all you can ask.

Went here on a Friday night. We played shuffle board and drank a few beers. We got a sampler as well. I wasn't really impressed with their beer that much, but I did like the Brasserie Blonde. The atmosphere was good except for the bar in the back that was fairly empty and didn't really fit with the feel of the rest of the restaurant. Never tried their food so I can't really comment on it, but the prices seemed reasonable. I'd definitely go here again sometime. It was an enjoyable experience.
