A - Poured over two quickly-consumed servings into my .5-litre Spaten pilsner glass from a 22-ounce "bomber". Very dark brown, almost black, not unlike cola. Like other stouts and porters showing this murkiness, the head develops slowly into several finger thicknesses, then begins to settle down. Once settled, Perseus Porter retained a finger-high head for the first half of each serving, then decayed somewhat, leaving good lacing from the top to the bottom of the glass.
S - This brew smells more like a doppelbock than a porter, which I find very interesting. After a few confused sniffs, however, the hops became more apparent and this porter seemed more in line with where it should be.
T - Not as sweet as I would have liked, but there's enough going on here to keep me interested. The hoppiness is right on the line between enjoyable and too much. More hops would have made this undrinkable for me. More burnt malts than chocolate. The aftertaste was nothing special and was short-lived.
M - Thin and solvent-like, which is more characteristic of a hoppy IPA than of a rich and creamy porter or stout. Again, right on the line of what I find acceptable.
D - I cannot say this was an unpleasant porter. I certainly consumed it fast enough, so I must have enjoyed it. Still, it could be better.

A: poured from a bomber into a pint glass. Deep dark brown liquid, ruby highlights, covered with a cream foam. Not at all viscous, just a nice dark ale.
S: sweet milk chocolate, bitter black coffee, roasty malts. hint of smoke.
T: mirrors the smell quite closely.
M: not super creamy -- less coating than I'd expect for a sweet porter -- but has ample carbonation to keep things interesting.
D: not a standout in any area, but has no flaws either. Just a well crafted American Porter. The 5.4% ABV isn't particularly well hidden, but it's low enough to be easily sessionable regardless.

A: It poured a deep, dark brownish black with ruby highlights and a thick, creamy chocolate head. It had leggy and decent lacing that slowly melted back into the brew as time passed.
S: It had a dominant aroma of sweet chocolaty malts and dark roasted coffee.
T: It begins with semi-sweet chocolate flavors that are followed by burnt malts and hops that leave the taste of coffee on the tongue long after the sip is swallowed.
M: It was a creamy, medium to full bodied beer with modest carbonation and a clean finish.
D - It was a flavorful beer that was a treat on a cool Seattle evening. It may be a bit to heavy and stiff for a session brew but it is a nice and enjoyable porter.

Perseus Porter was one of the rotating seasonal offerings.
Poured into a standard pint, the beer is jet black with a tan head and good lacing.
I like the smell of charred malts, coco and dark fruit.
Taste tracks the smell. It is slightly sweet with chocolate, roasted grains and raisins.
The mouth is thickish with more carbonation than necessary.
I liked this beer and had a couple with dinner.
