2012 update OMG Alex I remember when you knew nothing about beer other than what Mike taught you. And then you turned 21! Ha ha. You have done an amazing job in expanding the micro & craft beer offerings while yet maintaining the liquor and wine selections. Kudos!
This local store has been experimenting with carrying small quantities of some interesting micro and craft beers. I was really surprised in 2007 to find an interesting selection, here. The owner (John) has some beer knowledge if you can catch him there during the day. A few of the younger guys (especially Mike and Alex, usually evenings) are extremely beer-savvy and great to talk with.
John gets a number of varying craft beers and the stock changes frequently. You may buy it this week and not ever see it again but then there's always something else to try, thanks to John's beer curiosities (which are somewhat self-indulgent in style, according to some).
Unfortunately, after buying far too many expired beers here over a 2+ year period (the last one was a case of local Heavy Seas dated "consume by Sep 23 2009" and I purchased the case in July 2010) I've stopped frequenting the place. My complaints fell on flippant and deaf ears as far as management but at least one clerk angrily agreed with me.
They have mix'n'match 6-packs, your choice of a growing selection of single bottles from their bottle-racks. The prices used to be decent but now it seems that "the growning demand for single bottles requires raising the prices." And that's why I can never find an actual full case of beer there, any longer.
It's right off Interstate 81 Exit 2, just after McD's from Rt 11 south -- basically a stone's throw from McD's, in a tiny plaza between Family Video and the great China 88 take-out restaurant.
Be sure to check dates on bottles and cases.

Castle's Liquors is located just off I-81 behind the McDonald's in Williamsport. The only unimpressive thing with this store is the atmosphere because of their being some much overstock in the store. I know that the store is now under new management so maybe that the new owner will be upgrading the "look" and "feel" of the store.
The micro-brew selection is very good with make your own six pack's. Very wide variety of different breweries. As soon as I started looking at some of the micros a very ecstatic employee offered me help and seemed to very knowledgeable and steered me in the right direction offering me various suggestions (most of which I have tried and enjoyed previously). I ended up buying a Schlafly's Tasmanian IPA which was extremely good. It is definitely now in my top 5 favorite beers.

Castle's...Williamsport's lone liquor store. This store has a pretty good selection of mid-range beers and also a decent selection of more high-end beers. They certainly do not have everything, but they have enough at decent prices to make it well worth stopping by. You can find some good deals with the make-your-own 6-pack from time to time, although beware of outdated brews. The service is very good, as many times I am greeted by eager sales people who like to talk beer and help me find some good brews myself.
