16oz. bottle poured into a tulip. Bottled sometime in March.

(A)- Pours a cloudy golden yellow/orange hue that produced a barely visible white head that dissipated immediately down to bubbles even after a vigorous pour. A little disappointing considering the style it is in the head formation.

(S)- Lots of banana & clove in front of a light yeasty clay barnyard. Really welcoming banana aroma; mountains of banana!

(T)- Again, mountains of lush & creamy bananas with a twist of lemon & clove. Very wheat-like with a thicker finish of biscuits, hay, and clay.

(M)- Fantastic banana aroma & taste. Crisp with a good carbonation level that dances to life on the tongue; fits the style well. Good abv integration.

(D)- A solid to great Triple that was the first one to introduce me to this style. There are better ones out there, but for the price, you really cant go wrong with this one. Simply delicious.

appearance: Cloudy gold. Decent size head on the pour and some messy lacing.
smell: Rich fruit, spicy bread. This is sure a Tripel.
taste: Much like the nose. I find myself gulping this. Very tasty and smooth.
overall: Nice Tripel. Alcohol seems half of what it is. Dangerously drinkable.

A decent brew. Poured from a pint bottle into a pint glass. It's got orange peel written all over it.

Very little foam head & lacing. The scent is lacking although it does have a bit of apple & pear sugars in it.. It's got a nice pale golden /dark orange color

Tastes like a Belgian. The orange flavor gives it a great all around mouthfeel that isn't overwhelming at all& something I'd like to drink again, no doubt.

Similar to a real Belgian. A faint orangey yellow pour, the color looks like the skin of a peach. It's not cloudy, but not clear either, but lacks the carbonated look I see in a lot of Belgians. The head is a finger thick but doesn't retain well.

The smell could certain fool you that it's not from across the pond. It's got a nice mixture of fresh fruits and candied sugar, with splashes of grape, pear and pepper.

A bit fruity for style, though still mostly pleasant. Lots of pear and maybe a bit much white pepper. I can't tell if I'm getting too much pepper or a hit of alcohol near the end of the sip, but the high fruit content does it's best in a losing effort to balance.

Sweet and fruity up front, but spicy and acidic at the end. A bit tangy in the swallow leaves you slightly puckered. Slight heat in the finish. There is a little carbonation here and there. The alcohol is present the whole time, but never too over the top.

This was part of this month's beer of the month club so I'm glad I've got a couple more bottles after this one because this was pretty good. The Belgians won't lose any sleep over this, but it's pretty good for an American rendition.

Poured directly from a cold bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance - Poured about 2-3 fingers of white head which dissipated very quickly down to almost nothing in about a minute. Remaining head laced nicely on the edges of the pint glass as I drank it. Light-medium amber in color.

Smell - Fruity, pears, banana, orange; very aromatic overall. Eagerly looking forward to tasting this beer after smelling its complex fruit aromas.

Taste - Bananas, pears; slightly bitter with a yeast-like aftertaste; earthy; kind of a bizarre combination of tastes; a little bit too funky for me.

Mouthfeel - Not too carbonated; easy on the palate given the high alcohol content.

Overall - Not my favorite Belgian ale. Taste is complex but I find the aftertaste to be mildly unpleasant; funky is really the only way that I can describe it. Not bad but not a beer I would look for again.

Now coming in 4-packs of 12 oz bottles.
Earthy, clean diaper, pale malt, pre-cooked bread dough aroma. Mild funk. Soft fruit.
Really a smallish head for style. Otherwise appearance of body color of medium golden and semi-clear seems right.
Vanilla, soft spice. Clean. Semi-dry. Leaving grit on teeth. Nice pale malt/pils character. Alcohol is nicely enveloped into the flavors. Bready and doughy flavors from the malt are prominent.
Chewier than many of this style. High carbonation is not all that obvious.
Not a great example, but not a bad example either. A good Am. version that is well priced and acceptable for style.
