Catching up on old notes, thanks to rudzud for sharing.
No head, super dark molasses brown color.
Nose... oh wow! tons of aged wood and smooth bourbon, vanilla, light cocoa, caramel, nutty, even some dark fruits, so much great aged bourbon though.
Taste is also awesome, rich dark malts, caramel, quad flavors, sweet malts, brown sugar and molasses, dark fruits and nuts again, then barrel! bourbon, velvety bourbon, an actual Pappy taste surprisingly with that aged smooth woody vanilla bourbon flavor, more vanilla barrel, rich and so great. Also get hints of cinnamon nutty flavor. Some warming booze, tingly.
Mouth is thick and rich, creamy, lighter carb.
Overall amazing!

Shared with JLindros at his Birthday Whale Tasting. Reviewed from notes. HUGE thank to miketd for this bad boy.
A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a light reddish brown hue with a thin off white blanket of a head that fades to leave a light halo.
S - The nose is incredible. Just incredible. Pappy aromas EXPLODE, caramel, vanilla, barrel, light dark fruits and cherries. Sweet Quad and incredibly delicious bourbon combine to create an outstanding nose.
T - Taste is just as incredible as the nose. Outstanding Pappy barrel notes, wood, smooth bourbon, light chocolate, vanilla, caramel, flashes of dark fruits. Delicious.
M - Mouthfeel is smooth, lightly carbonated.
O - Overall this is an outstanding beer. The base beer is made even more epic by letting it sit in the barrels. Just incredible.

Bottle generously shared by Chris (spycow) for Mike's birthday. Served in a Bell's tulip.
A - Thin white foam settles to a thin collar and specks of lace. Dark brown body with a hint of transparency at the edges of the glass.
S - Big oak, lots of bourbon too, with some dark fruits and cherries, as well as a touch of chocolate. Quad is a tad overwhelmed, but it tries valiantly to hold up to the barrel-aging; the oak does dissipate a bit as the beer warms up with more fruity sweetness coming out instead.
T - The taste features hefty doses of vanilla, caramel, dark fruits, and candi sugar. Bourbon manifests mostly in the finish, with sour mash and oak flavors lingering into the finish. Reasonably well-hidden alcohol - guessing this is around 10%.
M - Smooth, medium-full body, with light tannic oak dryness, and some mild stickiness lingering in the finish. Fairly low carbonation level, and not a ton of alcohol warming.
D - A very good barrel-aged quad; not mind-blowing, but eminently drinkable and surprisingly balanced for a Jackie O's barrel-aged beer. I had a few refills of this one, and I'd gladly drink it again. Should improve a bit over the next 6-12 months, but the balance of barrel and base beer is already pretty good.
