Brad made this blend for the VIP Hill Farmstead Harvest Festival. I had at least two full glasses of this beer. Poured from a keg into my HF stemmed glassware. Reviewed from notes that I scribbled down while drinking the beer at the fest.
A- Poured a hazy slightly orange yellowish grapefruit color. On the two glasses that I had there wasn't much head at all, maybe a thin layer at most, however some of the pours I saw had about a finger of fairly thick white head that had decent retention.
S- Aromas of sour fruits- mostly berries (raspberries, blueberries, etc.) with hints of other fruits (a little bit of kiwi, lime, bananas, etc.). Above average aroma strength and a very nice level of sourness on the nose that balanced well with the fruity berry aromas.
T- Berries (raspberries, blueberries) and other fruits (lime, kiwi, a hint of bananas). Similar taste as in smell but with a tiny bit less sourness. Nice balance.
M- Fairly light, easy to drink, nice carbonation.
O- Definitely one of the better Berliner's I've had, maybe second only to Tartare. Had a really nice sour presence that was balanced nicely with the fruit. Unfortunately I've never had either of the base beers, but this blend was definitely impressive. One of my favorite beers of the night, which was pretty impressive considering the lineup.
