Bottle shared at GRG1313’s tasting.

2011 vintage. Bottle # 81/204.

Pours a murky orange with a foamy bone head that fades to nothing. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is sour and tart with peach, fruit, and acidic aromas. Taste is much the same with peach and wood flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty and easy to drink.

Thanks to rudzud for sharing, 2011 vintage bottle # 130/204

Decent fizzy bubbly 1/2 finger head fades semi quickly, light lacing, mostly clear blond apple juice colored.

Nose floats out everywhere after the pour, tons of tart sour fruit, tangy sour funky peach, plenty of peaches not necessarily fresh but peach nonetheless, light blonde malt, hint sweetness, nice tart lactic acid and lacto sour funk, light vanilla oak barrel, smooth and round. Peach also brings other light stone fruit like nectarine.

Taste comes in waves. First hits with a nice sour fruit, tart peaches and stone fruit, again not fresh but soft fermented aged fruit. Then an oak layer hits, vanilla, dusty oak, etc. Next tart sour lambic like funk, lacto sourness, little creamy, and lactic acid. Next malts kick in with some light blonde ale sweetness and light toasty bready malt with light yeast. Then more fruit, again tart sour like peach and flemmy. Finish is flemmy, tart sour peach fruit, little bready funk, light barrel, light acetic acid and creamy lacto.

Mouth is med to lighter bodied, flemmy and sour, nice carb.

Overall quite nice, very good beer, nice aged peaches not fresh but nice, nice sour tart fruit etc.

So I have two of these beers, cracking one with JLindros. Bottle number 130/204, 2011 vintage.

A - poured into a Kate the Great tulip a crystal clear apple juice hue with a quarter inch head that fades to leave light lacing and a thin cloud.

S - Aromas of nice soured blonde, barrel aging notes, sligh vanilla notes. Peach is on the fainter side, definitely an old/aged peach nose. Not fresh fruit, nice skin.

T - Taste is quite pleasant. Starts with some slightly bready blonde notes before tart peach skin takes over. Quite sharp but not overwhelming sourness. Light vinegar notes, floral barrel/vanilla/dusty oak barrel. Some beautiful layers. Of flavor here.

M - Mouthfeel is very sharp and tart with good carbonation super sessionable. Quite nice.

O - Overall I have yet to be disappointed by a Jackie O's beer. This is very complex and layered beer. Not sure if I would age this like the bottle says I could but super amped to have another bottle.

Poured from the bottle into a goblet. This is bottle 73/204.

Appearance: The beer pours a clear golden amber color with just under a finger of creamy off white head. The head leaves a small layer on top of the pour.

Smell: This is a fruity sour vinegar bomb. Lots of sour vinegar and some light, hay like funk. There is a nice peach undertone here as well.

Taste: This is a really nice light sour ale. I'm getting some vinegar and lemon juice sourness right off the bat. The fruit shows up more near the end of each sip. There is a light sweetness and a mild funk. The finish is quite fruity and somewhat acidic.

Mouthfeel: The body is medium with just a touch of syrup to it. The carbonation is fluffy with a very dry finish.

Overall: This is a very sour blonde ale, but it's extremely drinkable. I thought the peach note was really nice. I'd have more in the future if they ever make this beer again.

Bottle shared by Chris (spycow). Bottle #126/204. Served in a Hill Farmstead tulip.

A - White foam settles to a thin collar, leaving a few wisps on top and negligible lacing. Transparent golden body.

S - Plenty of lactic sourness, peaches and other stone fruits, light acetobacter, musky funk, and light oak. It's largely what you'd expect from an American Wild Ale, but it's well done all the same.

T - The taste is quite similar, but with a bit less funk and a bit more Sweet Tarts candy-esque flavors and a lightly carbonic seltzer finish. Lots of lactic sourness and stone fruits - pretty much what you'd expect from a wine-barrel aged peach sour.

M - Light body, with pleasant but lower carbonation. Dry, with a lightly tannic texture to it and no obvious alcohol. Moderate acidity, but nothing excessive.

D - This is a really nice beer. Good balance of lactic and acetic sourness, with light funky notes. It's a lot like I remembered when we tasted this from the barrels, and I'm glad it didn't get to acetic by the time it was bottled. Jackie O's strongest sour and one I wish they would make in larger quantities.

Pours a nice golden yellow with swirls of orange highlights. Thin white head runs scared to a thin white collar.

Smells of acetic stone fruits and a dash of funk. By the nose I'm hoping this is unabashed sour.

Taste really amps up from the sniffer. Nice and sour: mainly orange and peach. Lactic notes mesh well with the high acidity. It's not the most complex beer, but the big peach notes and pucker make it quite enjoyable. There's a tart fruit juiciness just before the drying tannic oak finish that ties the beer together nicely.

Overall, this was quite enjoyable and I crushed the bomber as a tribute to our nation's independence. Suck it, England.

Thanks to barkingelectron for sharing this one.

Pours deep yellow/light orange with some foamy white head that dissipates to a ring. Lacing is present but low.

Tart peaches stand out in the aroma. A little bit of bretty funk along with some oak are present as well.

Similar flavor to the nose. Big intense up front peachy sourness gives way to more mellow flavors in the back end. The brett kicks in after the initial peach onslaught and it finishes musty and dry.

Medium bodied. Nice and creamy with good prickly carbonation.

Yet another fantastic sour by Jackie O's. We had this back to back with Fantasia and a few preferred this. While I don't think it was quite as good, it more than held its own.

Poured into a tulip. Bottle #109 of 204 from 2011.

3.5 A: Lightly hazed light orange color. One and a half ifngers of frothy white head. Retention is average and a short ring of lacing is left.

4.0 S: Pleasant mix of funk and sour. Foremost, tart peaches stand out. A mix of earthy and musty funk follows - dryrotted sweat socks, wet rotting wood, oak, supple tannins. Tangy lactic acid in moderate amounts.

4.0 T: Tastes like the nose, but with a little more force. Tart and sweet peach with some extra berry notes from the lactic acid. Oak, light vanilla, and plenty of funk including barn woodines, sweat socks, unripened berry, and damp musty basement. Very nice.

4.0 M: Lighter medium body. Good spritzy carbonation. Good creaminess as well.

4.5 D: I really enjoyed this, it's one of JO's better sours. Any category could have been a notch higher, so I'll bump the overall.

Poured a hazy, orange color with a small quickly dissipating white head.

The aromas begin with fresh peach nectar coupled with a huge amount of oak as well. A bit earthy and funky sourness emerges as it warms.

The tastes follow the nose but are a step down in intensity. Flavors of peaches, lessers lemon and maybe grapefruit. Solid tart lactic sour flavors throughout.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Finish is dry and tart and oaky.

Overall this was a really nice beer but I feel I opened my bottle too soon. This could use another year to let the sourness and flavors develop into something special.

A - Pours a hazy/mirky yellow/orange color, white head, bubbles here and there and a thin collar.

S - Citrus peel, lactic sour/tart notes, light peaches, some must, oak. Really nice sour notes and super-sniffable.

T - Lactic sourness, fruity peach notes, oak, some acidic pucker in there as well. The finish is fruity sweetness and an nice sour bite.

M - Light body, good carbonation, dry finish.

O - A really nice sour from BC that I would have again all the time, if available. I was really looking forward to this one after sampling it out of the barrel, and it lived up to my memories of it. Get some!

Bottle 92/204 into Jackie O's snifter. Thanks to MarkIntihar, can't thank you enough for this.
Pours a blonde orange color with a very small bubbly head that fades to a ring which lasts through the beer and leaves some lacing. The nose is already putting off signs of sour with musty peaches and dirt. Wow this beer is pretty dang tart with young peach and earthiness, pretty acidic. It has a medium body that is dry and has an acidic burn. They did a great job with this one. Thanks Mark.
