22oz bottle poured into a Stone taster. Bottle split at a recent Pittsburgh BA tasting, I don't know who brought this, but thank you!
A - Pours a hazy, dark orange, like that of burnished copper or an old penny. There isn't much head at all to speak of, but what is there is comprised of tiny bubbles with a tan hue. As it fades, it leaves behind a thin coating of soapy lace.
S - The smell of the Brandy Superfly brings a nice marriage of caramel malts and the grapes of a brandy. There's also a good amount of apples, slight chocolate, oak, and even a slight bit of coconut.
T - Given the eclectic and exciting nose, I was pumped to get to the meat of this beer, but I ultimately found myself a bit underwhelmed by the flavors. I felt that the malts did not complement the brandy barrels very much, as the caramel, toffee, and chocolate of them clashed with the more fruity aspects of the brandy. It was still possible to pick out the apples and grapes within the brandy, but I found it to be rather muddled and conflicting, without really establishing an identity.
M - Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with good carbonation. Fairly smooth and the brandy comes across nicely with a slight alcohol burn.
D/O - Drinkability is moderate. Jackie O's has definitely had better barrel-aged offerings than this beer, and I'm not sure if it's just the base beer that is conflicting with the brandy or if it hasn't had enough time to mellow, but it just came across a bit awkward.

Bottle 275/341 '11 batch Huge props to Aleguy for the hookup!
Murky brown with caramel highlights when backlit and a tight collar of tan foam that leaves scraps of lace on the glass. The aroma is intense and wet oaky with plenty of Brandy/Cognac mixed with caramel malt and vanilla. I really like the flavors here, charred oak, brandy, toffee and sweet malt with a decent blast of alcoholic heat, the one drawback is the boderline cloying sweetness that makes this beer a big time sipper. Soft carbonation and full bodied with a sticky, coating mouthfeel. Pretty over the top but what do you expect? If you don't want extreme flavors don't mess with this big boy. I don't know if this beer really hits the mark stylistically speaking, but it does kick ass and is a lot of fun to drink.

Served in a snifter. A resilient frothy cream head sits atop a prune colored beer. Leaves excellent lace.
The aroma is quite bold - this IS a brandy barrel aged beer, no doubts here. Sweet liquor notes abound and the beer is quite boozy on the nose. Vanilla and sweet apple can be found. Overall though, brandy overpowers all - yet in a positive way.
Again, in the taste there is a large emphasis on very fresh brandy/barrel juices. Wet oak lends some char and dryness and welcome tannic flavor. Malt flavors are present, but mostly overruled by the brandy. Sweet.
Mouthfeel? Dry, Captain!
Overall I liked this beer. Just know that it is a brandy bomb, and lacking dimension. Slightly hot, and definitely sweet, and dry. An aged bottle might do well.... might.

Bottle shared at FosterJM's birthday celebration courtesy of MrHirschybar.
Bottle # 328/341.
Pours a murky honey brown with a khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is slightly sour and is mainly of malt and dark fruit. Taste is the same with a slight kick of brandy on the finish. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer but it's pretty weird in my opinion.

Thanks, Richard!
Pours amber in color with a khaki colored head. There’s a light butter quality to the nose which is not very pleasing. Some sweet toffee and other sugar notes to go with a hint of vanilla and oak. Just a hint of brandy on the nose. The flavor is similarly lackluster. Mild brandy, sweet toffee and malt, and too much butter (well, any is really too much). Maybe just a hint of dark fruit. Medium body and carbonation.
