22oz bottle (#209/216) from 2011 into a snifter.
Pours with a bright, hazy orange-golden body. The head is scant and quickly retreats to a tiny wisp of white bubbles. Despite the lack of foam, the aroma is prominent, suggesting sharp citrus peel, funky earth, wood, and tangy wheat notes. Clementine flesh is sweet in the background providing a nice balance to the nose.
The flavor matches the aroma well at first, delivering creamy wheat and sweet, juicy orange notes to the front of the palate. A slightly tart, funky astringency from the oak and Brettanomyces takes hold mid-sip. Citrus peel in the finish is bitter with drying, wooden notes that thin out the medium body. Low carbonation supports a very juicy mouthfeel. Overall, Orange Oak is a delightful beer that skirts across several styles and ties them together quite nicely. One of Jackie O's finer attempts at the wild/sour ale genre.

Bottle thanks to Chris, thanks man.
The beer pours a super hazy straw orange color with very little head or lacing at all.
The smell has a great citrus bouquet with some wild yeast notes as well, not a whole lot after the initial aroma.
The taste has a lot of clementine to it, definitely dominates the flavor along with some banana and grapefruit. Not bad, but almost seems like drinking a juice blend than drinking a beer.
The feel is somewhat thin and a bit acidic, but not terrible.
Overall, ok but not amazing.

The beer is pretty much flat with no head to speak of. It’s a cloudy orange color. The citrus aroma is pronounced from the get go. Initially it has a nice orange/tangerine aroma to it, but as it sits for a little bit, it morphs into a cooked orange peel sort of aroma. The flavor isn’t very good, either. It’s surprisingly watery and surprisingly bitter (from the fruit, perhaps?). Overly sweet with the same cooked citrus fruit character. I don’t really get much wood character out of this.

Bottle shared at FosterJM's birthday celebration courtesy of MrHirschybar.
Bottle # 41/216.
Pours a murky orange with a beige head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is sour, tart, and funky with citrus fruit, citrus zest, and spice aromas. Taste is much the same but there is a definite medicinal flavor that I am picking up that I am really not very fond of. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer but it smells much better than it tastes in my opinion.

From 22oz bomber to Devil's Backbone glass on 5/5/12
*From notes
A: It looks almost like unfiltered OJ. No real head, sans a white .25 finger topper that fades quickly. No lacing or collar.
S: Sour oranges. The wild yeast is quite prevalent at this point, and it's about as funky as you'd expect.
T: Tart, bitter blood oranges. It's like they've been sitting in the back of the fridge for a couple of months. The balance of funk and fruit is extremely well done. And there's a touch of woody tannin on the finish.
M: Too oily for my liking. The carbonation is a tad low, which intensifies the sour more then it should.
O: Another winner from Señor Clark at Jackie O's. I love me some fruit beers, and this is no exception. Wonderfully balanced and something I'd reach for again. Easily recommended.

22oz poured into my Portsmouth tulip. It poured bright orange in color with a very thin white lacing barely covering the top.
The aroma shows a moderate, sour, funkiness with some tart and crisp fruits. I get a little fruity sweetness coming out, along with a touch of oak.
In the taste I get a very tart orange and grapefruit like flavor to it. I get a little sour funkiness to it, but it leans more towards a tart orange juice like flavor.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation for the style. Overall, it was a pretty decent and interesting beer but not a real outstanding one. I did Like the orange flavors to it.

Pours clear orange/red with hardly any head whatsoever with an agressive pour.
Aroma is what is expected. Subtle clementine, some oak and wheat with an overwhelming brett character.
Starts out with a clementine citrus presence. Some tart wheat notes enter and it finishes with some more juicy citrus and some brett funk.
Very undercarbonated almost flat. Mouthfeel is fairly light.
I'd love to see how this one is with just a hint of carbonation because I enjoyed it as is. The brett stayed in the background and let other flavors shine. Just wish it had some bubbles.
