I had this on tap at The Tap. Very thin with a puckering aftertaste. The aroma on the beer was nice but that's really the only good thing I can say about it. The mouthfeel reminded me of Guiness so if you like that you'll probably like this as well.

Poured a great midnight black with very nice head and great lacing. Very deep malt aromas, with great roasted grains and a slight sweetness. Thick and dark malts, with a great roasted grain flavor, sweet malts, nice chocolate tones, and an interesting lactose sweetness. Goes down very smooth, hiding most of it's high ABV. Went down very well with the tai peanut wings.

Bitter, dry, roasted cocoa stout with ballsy earthy hops.
___
A: Black body with feint ruby highlights, topped by a one finger khaki quickly settling head.
S: Roasted chocolate and general roastiness with an earthy yet zesty hop edge and just a hint of fruit. Simple but quite pleasant.
T: Pretty substantial chocolate roast with very zesty dusty hops. Very much on the bitter and dry side, which I appreciate, though it completely throws the style guidelines out the window. A bit hollow/simplistic, and maybe a bit stale coffee-like, but big and bold. Oddly, it seems to have less flavor as warms.
M: Grainy and a hair on the thin side.
O: One of the driest and most bitter stouts I've had, which is actually pretty neat. A fine effort for such a tiny operation.

I had this one at the Columbus Bar in Columbus, Indiana.
A: Served in a pint glass, Opaque deep brown almost black. No head. I would have liked just a bit of head on pour. No lacing.
S: Deep chocolate, coffee, and yummy roasty maltiness.
T: Smooth, sweet, and milky and not at all bitter. A good example of this style.
M: Nice medium feel on this one.
D: A very drinkable stout. I had this one after being caught out in the rain. It helped warm and nourish me a bit.

Draft sample at IBG Winterfest 2009.
Poured black color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate roasted coffee and chocolate aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium roasted bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration.
My expectations where more then met.

Sampled from a growler supplied by the brewery at an Indiana brewers event held 3-15-08.
Pours like the name, very deep black with a nicely full tan frothy head.
Nose is loaded with toasted bready grains and big coffee and chocolate.
Taste is of really dark malts with plenty of coffee and cocoa. Very toasted and smooth in overall flavor. A slightly dried out rounded finish. Impressively balanced and consistent in taste from beginning to end.
Feel is smooth and medium-full bodied. Nicely balanced dry/oily feel, very clean but full.
Excellent drinkability with great balance. I really enjoyed this one and sipped on it for a while.
